Adult Consent Form
Project Title: Measuring How People Think, Feel and Behave in Competitive Situations
The purpose of this study is to examine how people think, feel, and behave in competitive situations. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete a survey. This entire experiment will take approximately 20 minutes. You will receive one research hour toward the required research hours in your General Psychology class, PSY 110. At any time during the procedure, you may choose to stop participation without penalty. You will receive the research hour even if you do not complete the study. There is no risk involved in this study. Your evaluations and your identity will be kept strictly confidential. The exact predictions being made will be explained fully to you after you have completed the study. The research study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Wheeling Jesuit University; and if you have any questions regarding your rights as a research participant, you may contact the IRB chair at 304-243-2334. Consent:
I, , state that I am over 18 years of age and that I agree to participate in a research study being conducted by Emily Keener - a student in the Psychology Department. I acknowledge that the researcher has informed me that my participation is voluntary, that I may withdraw my participation at any time without penalty, and that all data will remain strictly confidential. I understand that the study involves no risk to me. I understand that I will be given complete information about the study at the conclusion of the study.
