The holiday season in the United States begins in late November with Thanksgiving and continues until the first day of January, New Year's Day. During this season Rich's, Macy's, Walmart, and other retailers experience a tremendous increase in sales as shoppers search for holiday presents. These gifts are objects of love and affection that are presented to loved ones during Hanukkah or Christmas.
The holiday season is a time for family and reflection. It is also the time when retailers conduct most of their business. Many stores produce contests or other gimmicks to increase sales. Some supermarkets even put produce on sale! The holidays influence business and consumer conduct. However, who would object to the hustle and bustle that permits all involved to pass the season merrily.
