A Standard Ballet Class

The standard ballet class usually starts with a type of warm up. First, there usually is stretching. The stretches are flexibility and warm up stretches. After stretching, you usually do simple but demanding bar work. Plies and leg lifts are most common. There is sometimes designated music used for the bar work, too.
After bar work, depending on the school and stage of year & learning, students are either taught new move, technique, a routine, or practice moves across the floor. Water is usually allowed.
Next, students are called for a final time to do the above, or given important information. Ballet classes can last from 30 minutes to about four hours.

A Standard Jazz Class
A standard jazz class usually begins with stretches. The teacher gives stretches that prevent muscle pulling if stretches are done correctly. After that, you do simple warm up exercises and review exercises. This is good for you mentally and physically.
After all warm ups and stretches are finished, you either go over routines, learn new moves or routines, or work across the floor. Depending on circumstances, a jazz class can be fun or strenuous.
With the whole class completed, the teacher makes last minute announcements and other things. Jazz classes last 30 minutes to hours long.

A Standard Tap Class
In a standard tap class, stretching isn't essential, but it is sometimes followed through. Foot, ankle, and leg stretches are the stretches used if any. After stretching, there are many warm up steps and exercises. They cover some simple steps and more complex steps covered the previous practice. Many reviews are done since many tap steps are difficult to remember.
After all warm ups and exercises are complete, the instructor goes over either routines previously, new steps, or new routines. Sometimes, a whole class is spent on reviewing!
When class is over, announcements are made and so is any other business that needs to be taken care of. A tap class lasts 30 minutes to about three hours.
