When at las' we thought, we'd finally seen The last of winter's cruelty She unleashed upon us, a mighty blow When burst- forth from sky, came the snow The clouds had thickened, throughout the day Condensed and white, with a bit of gray And the mercury dropped a few more degrees A prophesy--- of things to be The flurries, sweeping, drifting-- white Fell--all through, the languished night In glistening shadows, of the moon Accumulated ---the snowy dune The tempest --wild, loudly wailed~~ As, the blinding snow--- travailed Furiously flying, the night forlorn--- On the wretched-wings, of the storm The blush of dawn, awoke us from sleep To a white, and snow-packed heap In winter raiment, the snowy mounds Concealed, the cold and barren-- grounds The crystal forests, veiled in white Disguised the peril, of winter's plight But the piercing chill, of winters breath Unbridled whispers-----of the death Weary-----passed the idle hours Stowed inside--- the glowing bowers Perusing the works of, Shelley and Yeats Snow bound inside----- with greats Bitter drafts------ drew across the floor And the storm traveled, to New England's shore Slumber--- fell upon the drowsy town Imprisoned by the storm------snow bound.
