 Today I heard a bird.......sing a song of Spring A warbled-little melody, in the air did ring A cheerful song of Springtime, an ode to budding love And I listened with my heart, as it sang from above Today I heard a bird.....perched high in the tree With a lovely flute like warble, singing on key Lyrics floating in the air, from the sparrows song Inspiration in harmony , I whistled right along Today I heard a bird....in soulful tune His merry song of Spring, made my heart swoon Surrendering to his melody, blithe and gay Today I heard a bird...until he flew away Today I heard a bird... and then he was gone For he flew away, along with his song I will never forget, his glossy -throated cry Today I heard a bird....but then he said goodbye.
