Autumn In Ohio
An indian summer bonfire chants
a scarlet flame that cinges a bruised sky
on an apple cider eve
As the warm spices of cinnamon dance on the winds
as they waltz with the leaves
And a rich tapestry is draped over a Sepetember pond
reflecting her golden hues
As the equinox slips in silently
bidding summer a fair adieu
Along country roads a beautiful pallet
of radiant colors
are displayed in full gown
As the myriads of butterflies on their trees
flutter on the breeze
and carpet the ground
Morning fog billows
weaving in and out of the tangled shocks of corn
and the parched bails of hay
And the cattails ruffle in the wind
bowing to the magenta mums
in their rich shades of autumn
as they sway
Patches of pumpkins are ready for the harvest
to be made into pumpkin pies
While the birds prepare to take flight
off to southern skies
A majestic splendor,of God's artwork
a time when the earth glows
The most beautiful scene, that paints my mind
Autumn In Ohio.
