Hail To The Chief
when he was President
Watergate was the talk
on everybody's lips
They were going to impeach him,
that put him in a bind
Next thing we knew,
he was on the news,
telling us he resigned
Tears filled the Whitehouse
as he told his staff good-bye
He told them not to hate
and hold their head up high
Years passed on
and the respect he built up again
Though, Watergate is what they chose
to remember him for in the end
It wasen't long ago
he joined his wife in that heavenly place
But the media chose to analyze
all of his mistakes
On the day of his funeral
many shared in this grief
For it would be the last time,
they would play for him,
"Hail to the chief."
