The Last Kiss
You look at me with a smile and say,"Hi"
I smile back concealing the hurt inside
I refuse to let you see me cry
As we pass on the tears start to fall
I turn and look back to
watch you walk on down the hall
I think back to a happier time when
We were more than just friends
As I turn to walk into my class
I look back for one more glance
I see you going down the stairwell,
and you look back up at me
You notice the tears falling down my cheek
So, you stopped and said,"Come over here"
As I looked up, you brushed away my tears
You held me close and began to say,
"I never meant to hurt you in any way"
You embraced me tighter
as you played with my hair
Then you said,"I still care"
I looked at you with my swollen eyes
You caressed my face and told me not to cry
"Out of all the loves I've had
and that are to come,
I'll remember you most
out of any of them
You are and will always be
Someone very special to me"
As he started to tell me
I'm someone he'd never forget
He stopped and thats when our lips met
As we drew apart I realized
This kiss sealed our goodbye.
