Love Poem
(dedicated to my husband)~1991~
I had nothing left to give
But you came along and replenished my hope
and taught me how to live
You took me under your wing and nurtured a scar
that didn't seem to fade
You guided me into the light
and led me out of the shade
Then you restored a heart
that was frayed and tattered
You took the time to rebuild my dreams
that once had been shattered
Months passed by and your
love grew deep into my soul
The emptiness that had once lived in my heart was gone,
I was now whole.
