THE FATHERHOOD OF GOD.
This is my interpretation of our First Priciple.
God, or the Great Spirit, or whatever name you give, is the creator of all things and breaths life, or the Spark of Spirit into all of us, and indeed all living things. We are a part of God and God is a part of us. We are never without God, although we may think we are. This is where free will comes into it. We are free to believe or not. It makes know difference to God, for just as a parent cannot break the bond with a child, no matter how unruly, so God cannot break the link with us. This is Love in its truest sense.
As a parent would not truely cast out for ever a wayward child, so our Heavenly Father would never cast us out. God is always there for us and no matter how bad we live our lives, there is always the chance to return to the fold. (although this is a long term rehabilitation and not something that is granted just by saying the right words. It may often be that this rehabilitation takes place once this earthly life is over.) But God holds out the Love of a Father to us.
