The Music

Many have asked me, "Just exactly what kind of singer are you?", and "kind" meaning "genre".  I don't really have a simple one-word answer to that question; I just write a song whenever I get an idea and how the song turns out inevitably depends on my often bi-polar mood.  In short, I don't really have a particular genre I focus on.

I have gotten many different opinions on what genre I might be.  People usually agree that I'm country singer with some influence from rock.  Personally, I don't really mind people calling me that, but I don't really like the stereotype either.  It's nice to have a certain category to fit into once in a while, but in the long run, being in a category restricts freedom in song writing.

I try my best to write songs that anyone could probably relate to.  Sometimes the subject may be a certain emotion--such as love, joy, sorrow, nostalgia, etc.--, some kind of advice the common person can follow or at least take note to, or perhaps just some sort of experience that is common in everyday life.  The way I figure it, everyone probably has some sort secret or longing.  Some may miss the old times, others may be hoping for a change, and still others may be secretly in love with someone.  I give my best effort for turning the thoughts and feelings of many people who are pressured by society or themselves to keeping silence into words that can be spoken.

So what kind of music do I sing?  Just call me what you see me as.
