A Little Tribute to the Late Great Maurice "Rocket" Richard
Maurice Richard was born August 4th 1921, in Montreal Quebec, Canada.
Maurice played right wing, shot left and scored 544 goals and had 421 assists in 18 seasons with the Montreal Canadians.
Maurice played in 978 regular season games with a total of 965 points in his 18 seasons.
Maurice was the first player to score 50 goals in one season. (1944-1945)
Maurice won the Hart trophy in 1947 and won 8 Stanley cups with Montreal during his career.
Maurice was a part of the 1st All-Star team 8 times and part of the 2nd All-Star team 6 times.
Maurice was finally inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961.
Maurice died May 27th 2000 of abdominal cancer and will be sadly missed.
