| O.K., so some of these critters are a little.... weird, warped and in few cases, wonderful. There are many more, which-I-just-can’t-remember-at-this-point-in-time..... Anyway, here are the meager amounts that I CAN remember: Hexactians: A race that is made up of colonies of six-celled organisms, which work together and are telepathic. These colonies are about the same size as an individual from many other races. The strongest willed Hexactian is the leader of the colony. The Hexactian life span is approximately 3 days, although the COLONY can live for many thousands of millennia. They reproduce by mitosis [simple cell division]. Hexactians are the strongest psychics in their galaxy. In their natural, almost gasseus state, they can span for many miles in all directions, looking like red coloured clouds. Part of Alience during the 4-Way War. They come from a hydrogen gas giant called Hexax. Extract from ‘Children of Pericious’: “Hexactian biology is complex, so I will tell you only what you need. They do not truly exist in terms of individuals. One 'individual' is made up of thousands upon thousands of 6 cell telepathic organisms. They have hydrogen filled vacuoles which allow the mini-organisms to rise and fall, and they have fins. Their home planet is a gas giant, and they are generally a peaceful people. They are red coloured, and can form their collective, led by the one with the strongest will, into any shape. They have an unsurprising fear of fire.” Psi-men: A telepathic race, who millennia ago gave up tecnology due to constant technological collapses on their world, and later, in their nation. They put the last of their technological knowledge into bioengineering, to firstly heighten their telepathic abilities and secondly, as they were going to give up ALL technology, plants that could supply their ships with adequate supplies. The Psi-men breath in carbon dioxide, breaking it down internally for the oxygen and carbon elements. Their ships are built of psychic energy, propelled by psychic energy ... you get the picture, I’m sure. The Psi-men are tall and thin, with long faces. Indeed, when they were first met by the Frelonians, the first comment made by the Frelonians between themselves when they met the Psi-men [before the Psi-men gave up technology and before the third Frelonian collapse.] was ‘Why the long face?’. Of course, the Psi-men could not tell why the Frelonians fell about laughing when the first of them said this, or why sniggers passed around when the statement was made subsequently. Many of them still do not understand the comment, as they do not naturally have much of a sense of humour, of course, there are, as always, many exceptions. Part of Alience during the 4-Way War Frelonians: Frelonia was once, before the first collapse, a beautiful world, with running streams, happy people, lush fields... you get the picture. The first collapse was fairly minor by comparison to the others. The resourceful people of Frelonia had started using the magnetic field of their home planet to their advantage, using it instead of the wheel. They were nearing the approximate time of the industrial revolution in social terms. Then, without warning, disaster struck. The magnetic poles of their planet reversed. They had only colonised the southern, warmer, hemisphere, the north still being in a tribal state. Needless to say, they overcame this problem in a short while. The next collapse came when their star went nova. Luckily for them, their planet was merely propelled from their system. At the time, they had primitive space travel and underground bunkers. They were, at least, expecting the nova. It was while they were a ‘rogue’ planet, an unsung genius acted upon the principles first thought out before the nova, and the ‘de-re’ was born. Now, to explain the de-re: Standing for demolecuraliser-remoleculeuriser [you can see why they shortened it really, can’t you.] the de-re changes the atomic structure of anything put into it, at least, this was origionally the case. You must put in the same amount of molecular matter as you wish to get out. Now, there are ‘de-re cells’, which store atoms in pieces [protons, neutrons, electrons working your way inwards.] These are VERY heavy. They recovered from this, being thrust into the same system as the Psi-men. The two races became fond of each other, forming strong diplomatic bonds, starting their first colonisation mission together. As they breathed different gasses, they had to find a suitable planet. They found one in the Psi-men’s own system and the first joint colonisation project got underway. They had many more colonisation projects after they had created the Terra-Former, at least, that’s what WE would call it. They, soon after they had colonised all of the planets in the Psi-men’s system, discovered the ability to create warp tunnels, which propelled them through space in the same manner as squeezing a tube of toothpaste, the force of the collapsing tunnel makes the craft surge forward. The first W-T [warp tunnel] was red, and created by accident, whilst trying out a new type of shielding. There are many other things that I could mention about the Frelonians, but as many of my story ideas come with Frelonia attached, it could take many days to explain all. Part of Alience during the 4-War War. Cellons: The Cellons are quite resilient and thick skinned people. Until the world Cellon 4 became a prison world, they were intensely peaceful, preferring almost anything to war. There were, of course, exceptions. Now, on Cellon 4 at least, the largest of their worlds, their culture is that of thugs, a brutal kind of law enforcement [You are considered to be a criminal just for being there. Their method of law enforcement is far from ‘Innocent until proven guilty’ or even ‘Guilty until proven innocent’ their law is generally referred to as ‘Guilty until proven dead’.] that means many false imprisonments and needless deaths. However, strangely, Cellon Prime, the nearest of their plaets to their star, the Celle, is probably the MOST lenient society in their, or any other galaxy. The general system that THEY, on Cellon Prime, work from is that anything is fine by them, so long as it does not harm others. Surprisingly, their society works, with practically no street crime, or any crime of any sort. Part of Alience during the 4-Way War. Liirians: The Liirians were and still are peaceful. They are generally thought of as simplistic and many entertainers are of Liirian origin. They were the founders of Alience during the 4-Way War, knowing that they needed many allies in order to match the might of the Etile, the Reegaal and the Spirons. Etile: The Etile are quite spider like, with 8 arms/legs [they can be used as either] the colour of their skin is variable. It is always a dark colour, but depending upon their caste the colour will be different. The red, for example, are the scientists. The purple is reserved for the current Emperor. They do not care about the state of their planets, and once one is 'Used up' they simply move onto the next. They do not breath, they recycle the gasses in their own body. They simply do not care about pollution, meaning that the lower castes are often ill from toxic waste for example. Some try to resist this oppressive style and there are many rebel factions, especially just before the Star Cannons were fired. Only one was thought to have been stopped, and then with the help of the Star People. Many rebellions have taken place, but mainly out of fear of the powerful Emperor, always the same one, he has never died, the general populace have not been behind them. Some DO believe in what they are doing, however, these are very few. When the Star Cannon was fired [the star cannon fires moon sized shells at warp speed (red W-T)] it destroyed planets in all directions, including Etile planets. The survivors of the Star-Cannon-attacked-planets formed a new race, the Star People. They wanted only one thing - the destruction of all Star Cannons, and never to allow one to be fired again. The firing of the Star Cannons also made the other races ally against the Etile, and ended the 4-Way-War era. Reegaal: The Reegaal were one of the participants of the 4-Way War, sometimes siding with the Alience [Frelonians, Cellons, Psi-men, Liir...] during the first part of the war, but mainly not, as they were considered 'lesser', mainly as they did not have purple skin, and this in fact almost led to the downfall of the Reegaali empire. The Reegaal have almost a medievil society, with only those that need to know how something works knowing. This resulted in a massive split in their society and meant that research etc. were always reduced. During the 4-War War, the peasant class were taught how to fly the spaceships [peasant built, peasant manned], and were taught how to fight with modern methods. Their best achievement during the 4-Way War was the 'Griffon', a massive beast of a ground troop, able to carry whole armies, and serve as a command station after planetfall, because, unlike the Etile, they believed that all planets should be passified, not destroyed. The Reegaal have had a voilent past and one that was deeply entwined with that of their galaxy, until the last collapse, where they were virtually wiped out by the Vymp. They united everyone during the 4-Way War against the Etile. Only a male is able to lead the Reegaal, despite the fact that several kings were advised by their queens, and the kings themselves were considered to be dimwits. Spirons: The Spirons are nearly featureless, which makes them almost perfect spies. Their entire society is always rapt with intruige. Their home planet is, considered by many, beautiful. They are basically human, but, as I say, with nearly no distinguishing features. Their society is led by an individual [there have been many many female leaders] who has proven themself worthy by undertaking a massive intelligence opperation, before assasinating the previous Grand Spy. Their worlds are, for the most part, very peacefull, with nearly no crime [you can never tell WHO's watching in this society]. Noone trusts anyone else, so there is often little trade on the planet, or even off of it. During the 4-Way War, they were the second greatest enemy of the Reegaal, second only to the Etile. The Spirons created a super weapon during the war, the 'Infiltrator', a creation that can easily pass through enemy lines, assembling at the other side. Once there, it kills someone, and steals their skin, in order to gain access to whatever they need. They were armed with a nuclear self destruct mechanism, meaning that they are never discovered for long. Star People: Extract from ‘Crash and Bern’ ‘‘Yeah, talk about doin’ your homework on the bus.’ said Jillian “Define the word ‘Freak’ for me...” Cazama, catching up with them. Jillian, or Jill, as she preferred, was one of the Star People, a race made up of the survivors of the original Starcannon blast from the 4-Way-War, who were totally dedicated to stopping the tragedy ever being repeated. Although the Etile fired them, the Starcannon Shells had hit at least as many Etile planets as Reegaal, Spiron or Alience. It was the firing of the Starcannons that united the other three sides against the Etile forces, and ended the war, which had gone on for centuries. The Etile were correct: one way or another, it DID end the war suddenly. There are members from all 4 factions in the Star People, and those are about the only Etile that survived. The Star People, as well as protecting the Starcannons from outside forces, especially the Cotaab, also try to preserve nature, and they believe in many Elders, including Elders of the forests. They will try not to harm a living thing, unless it tries to harm them, not even an Etile, unless it actually TRIES to hurt them.’ Trade Concern: Part of Alience. The only ones who still know how to make ‘Formula 5’ Perfectionists: Mainly Cyborgs, however, there are some robots. The robots are virtually indestructable, however, the technology to create them was lost many millenia ago. The Cyborgs, although may think individually, have no choice in what they do. The Cyborgs have an override in case they become a nuisance to the central mainframe. They like spheres. They only produce spherical ships, and even a small scratch is often enough to make them self destruct their ships, if there is no chance of 're-perfectionising' them. They have the technology to re-materialise things without a second de-re pad, and so their ships have no openings, even the thrusters and weapons do no corrupt the perfect sphere with the need for openings. As a result, their ships are slow, but the point is that they can board enemy ships with such ease that weapons are often not even necesary. The Mothership, or GRANDSPHERE is larger than the size of a system, and used to be powered by a quasar at the centre, until they found a better energy source, one that will live forever: An Elder, captured during a raid on an imperfect planet. The planet was destroyed, but they managed to subdue the Elder, and now, with his energy, although they could not make him into a Cyborg, the have limitless power. As they destroy their own ships at the smallest pinprick hole, no one has captured one of their ships, nor had the chance to study the technology. One Robot was once found floating in space in debris by one race, they were going to disect it using a laser scalpel, but it drew power from it, and in a day, the planet was taken totally, the rest of the empire fell in a matter of months. Recently, they have found a floating memory core, containing the AIM virus, even though he could not take the Perfectionists by force, they allowed him to join their Empire, and he is now plotting his revenge against Keated and his Rust Bucket. Sividers: I have no information to impart about this race. AIM: AIM is not really a race - they are individuals, ‘Chipped’ by the AIM virus. The chipped people have full control over their actions, although their view of reality is a little warped, e.g. exactly WHO the enemy is. Everyone belives they are happy, eventhough they are not truly. AIM nearly succeeded in taking the Frelonian Empire, but for Keated and The Rust Bucket Humans: Do I really need to say anything about them? Beast/Children of Pericious: Those infected by the Beast Virus. The Children of Pericious [CoP] have the ability to change from their original form to Beast, while the Beast stay in that state. The Beast are yellow skinned, and extremely tough. Elders: The easiest way to define them would be basically that of Gods. Though not truly Gods, they were the original creators of the ‘Outer Universe’ - the one we inhabit, but they do not have the power to destroy it, except Alexus. Boringists: The Boringists are made up of many Races, all who joined individually of their own free will. The Boringists are surprisingly good fighters, and Boringist controlled planets are free from crime and peacefull. Their society has remained much of a mystery to outsiders, as the Boringists prefer to be left alone, almost to the point of being Xenophobes, but what is known is that they strive to attain True Boredom. It is known that they were created during the last collapse, and use the colour grey a lot. It is believed that they even have some members from the Vymp Empire, the most elusive, considering that they are not even from this dimesnion. It is known that during the Vymp attack on this galaxy [the last collapse] they were formed, and since then they have several times assembled a fleet, each time with utterly devestating results to the enemy they are believed to have some advanced technology, however this is mere speculation. CotAAB: The mortal enemies of the Star People. The Cult of the Almighty A-Bomb want a Star Cannon and only the Star People now know where they are. The Cult want to destroy as much as possible, as they believe that if there is less matter in the Universe, the matter left is more valuable, so they, in effect, wish to destroy EVERYTHING appart from themselves. The leader is never in office for long, as if there are less lives, the ones left are more important. The Cult is banned from all civilised planets in the Galaxy, however, it is believed that there is a large underground movement. Shifters: They are peaceful and WILL NOT FIGHT, ever. It was this that caused them to go into hiding when the Perfectionists came through their sector. They were trapped there for some considerable time, until the Skylancer rescued them. Their names are all three letters long, and they have only ever inhabited 2 planets - their original planet, and its moon. Realists: They are as they have always been: civilised with a perfect civilisation. Once, probably in the future, they created a ‘Reality De-Generator’, which gives the bearer near Elder-like power. This is why 30 of their most trusted government officials must aggree and use it simultaineously. They appeared at the very beggining of this Universe just as they are now. Alience: There are many races in the Alience [ALIEN CE/alliance, a clever pun that the Frelonians created. The Psi-men did not get it], and their descriptions are separate [see: Frelonians, Psi-men, Hexactians, Cellonians, Liirians...etc.]. Currently, all of the races in Alience give all of their people an equal chance, equal opportunities etc. It is considered by many in other races to be a Utopia, which, in fact, is the name of a Psi-man city on Psi-Primear, and knowledge of it was passed on to the Terrans/ Humans/ Homosapiens/ Earthlings by a Psi-man ship that crashed once, before being rescued from Earth by a Psi-man ship. They passed on this, and chess. Anyway, due to this Utopian view, many people from other races defected during the 4-Way War, especially the Etiles. AC’s/Aces: The Alience, during the 4-Way War used a technology now lost, to create warriors that surpassed the abilities of any other, in stamina, resilience to attack [they have been known to withstand nuclear attack, direct Pulsar cannon strikes and large quantities of Formular no. 5.] and strength. Nothing compares to their resilience to attack, and it is thought that the all those created all died of natural causes after several centuries. It is thought that they had some kind of internal shielding. Every now and again, as often as there is a Saturday night on Ratexe [about 5 in a millenium, there are several stars in the system, and for some reason Saturday nights do not happen often. Even more rare is a Friday night, which has never been recorded anywhere on the planet.] a descendant is found. It is not known how the AC’s [Alience Commandos] reproduce, but it seems that they have strange DNA, warped from many perspectives. Part of their DNA went into the Beast, and part of all of the races of Alience went into the AC’s [sometimes called Aces]. Cyber Warriors: These brave warriors take on computer systems on their own terms. First created on the Rust Bucket by the Psi-man Sokar Toe-er and the Frelonian Ray Gun, later to become Ray Gunter when he married Glory Hunter [they combined their names.]. They enter the computer network completely. Coit Breaker and Kasara [handmaiden of Imperial Princess Felonah] of the Rust Bucket also helped to create this technology that defeated AIM. BioRG Klan Alliance: The BioRG Klan Alliance is made up of three factions. The Biome are considered to be foul, scuttling creatures with many useful adaptations to their bodies and different castes. The Khyris are tall, crystaline and humanoid. They can reform their bodies to a certain extent, especially spikes. The Reiel Gjerin are a deeply religious people, with many zealots to any cause which one of their many temples decide are neccesary. The Temples constantly fight amongst themselves. In this society are three types of sub-society: Khyris: Biome: Reiel Gjerin: The three races generally avoid each other where possible, and do not as a rule join ships from one of the other culture. As a result, there are Bio-Tek class ships, Khyristal class ships and the Reiel Gjerin do not have many ships. They are Xenophobic towards other races, remembering the bitter war between their own peoples. They will work together, but they must generally be forced. As a race, they do not make friends easily. They were involved in a bitter power struggle/war for the past 5 centuries. The Khyris were origionally a highly advanced race, but their defence network was betrayed, and as soon as one of their 'Indestructible' class Starbases was sabotaged, they were attacked soon after by a Biome fleet, taking out the control centres for the unmanned starbases. The Reiel Gjerin were the sabotuers. For the next generation, they were enslaved by the Biome or the Reiel, until the Krystal was discovered, and the Khyris empire was slowly liberated. A few years of harsh battle later, and the peace treaty was signed. It is now several centuries later, but the mistrust is still there, although none of the three factions has any intention of re-starting the harsh conflict. anomalies/miscellaneous: Ok, so some don’t quite fit into any of the above categories, like Alexus for example, who WAS human, but is now the most powerful Elder in the Universe. Outside of the Universe, he is NOT so powerful, I should add. |
