The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. in Kearney, Missouri. The parade route begins and ends at Platte Clay Way and will travel through downtown Kearney.
Tour of Kearney High School
Have you been to the high school since we graduated in 1992? If you haven't, you're in for a surprise! First, it is no longer just the high school - two new schools have been added to the campus: Southview (4th & 5th grade) and Summit Ridge (6th grade). In addition, an athletic field (for football, soccer and track) and a softball complex have been built. Finally, the school has been enlarged and contains a new media/library center and 15 new classrooms. In addition, the instrumental-music room has doubled in size!
The tour will begin after the parade at approximately 11:30 a.m. Daryl Rinne will lead the tour. Bring your kids and/or your spouse/significant other and show where you went to school. Meet in the parking lot for this free event!
Ice Skating
Line Creek Community Center located in the Northland at 5940 NW Waukomis Drive has a wonderful, indoor ice skating rink. Bring the family as the cost is only $5 each person and includes skate rental! You may arrive anytime between 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. and skate until 4:00 p.m. Want more information on Line Creek Community Center? Call 816-505-2244.
Jesse James Day Beer Gardens
Each year at the Jesse James Day festival, a beer garden/dance is held in the festival tent located on the Festival Grounds off of 33 highway. No one under 21 is allowed in the tent. Cost is $6 per person. The tent is open from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
