  • INFO:
Hugh Jackman made his acting debut on broadway in Australia where he was cast as Gaston in the musical production of Beauty And The Beast. In 1995, he was cast to play the role of a convict in the British series Correlli, which starred Deborra-Lee Furness. Hugh and Deborra-Lee became best friends, and then eventually married in February of 1996. Hugh made two movies: The Paperback Hero and The Erskenville Kings. Shortly after doing these, Hugh began his role as Curly with the Royal National Theatre in the production of Oklahoma. But none of this could compare to what would happen in 1999 when Hugh was cast as Logan/Wolverine for the upcoming X-Men movie.
Originally, the actor Dougray Scott was cast in the role, but he was tied up with reshooting for Mission: Impossible 2 and Hugh was called back for another screen test with the director Bryan Singer. Singer gave Hugh the role on the spot, and the only other time he has done this was with Kevin Spacey when he was cast in the movie The Usual Suspects. Hugh has signed on a 3 picture deal with Fox Studios so expect to see him in the sequels.
After X-Men, Hugh made the movies Someone Like You, Swordfish (with John Travolta) and Kate & Leopold.
