The rest of the week goes very slow for Katya. She spends her time in study hall talking to Andrew, she sits with him and his friends at lunch, and she spends every other minute possible with him. Finally Friday shows up. But that day is the slowest ever. Kat wakes up really early and gets everyone else ready early because she wants to meet Andrew because he has to leave for a field trip. And today Kat is to wear his football jersey, even though he doesn't play and just goes home.
Kat and Mellisa arrive at school. Kat took extra care with her hair and outfit that day. She slips Andrew's jersey over her other shirt and kisses his cheek. Hand in hand they walk to the cafeteria to get pop tarts and milk. The five to bell rings and they dispose of their garbage and head to study hall.
"Can you come to my house tonight after school? My best friend will be there and she wants to meet you. Also, she is bringing her boyfriend for us to meet," Kat sighs happily.
"Sure. I asked my mom last night and she said it would be alright if I was gone until 10p, because its not a school night. And we can spend all day together tomorrow and most of Sunday together. I can't wait," Andrew says excitedly.
"Great, Kol can't wait to meet you. And I can't wait to meet her boyfriend. Hey, is there still Teen Night?" Kat wonders.
"Yes, they will have it on Saturday nights now, however. It will be the same time, just a different night. Are you going this weekend?"
"I hope so. And you better go. I plan to dance every slow song with you."
"You had better. I wouldn't choose any one else to dance with," Andrew grins. Just then the bell rings. Andrew walks Kat to her class, kisses her on the cheek, and then walks to his own class. At lunch, the couple meets up. Andrew's friends, as well as the couple, discuss weekend plans, including Teen Night and who's going and who'd not.
Soon the day is over and the couple, as well as Mellisa and Kegan, head home. Not far from home, Mellisa says that she sees a truck in the driveway. They all run home to find Kolenya and Johnny on the swing. Kat rushes up and Kol stands up. The two best friends hug. Andrew comes up and puts his arm around Kat as the girls separate. Johnny stands up and puts his hands around Kol's neck.
"Kat, this is Johnny, the one I told you about on Monday and Wednesday. And this must be Andrew," Kol says gesturing towards Andrew.
"Kat nods. "Nice to meet you, Johnny. Both of you, I'd like you to meet my boyfriend, Andrew. Andrew, this is my best friend, Kolenya, and her boyfriend, Johnny. Johnny, my sister, Mellisa, and her boyfriend, Kegan, are the ones that entered the house just now," Kat introduces. Johnny nods.
Kat ushers all of them into the house, for more introductions. Then the guys and Kol pick out a movie. They all head up to Kat's room to watch the movie and talk. At nine, they all make plans to meet at the local bar for Teen Night. Johnny gets in his truck and heads back to Weyauwega. Kat and Kol walk Andrew across the street to his house, and then they continue up to Kol's sister's house.
When Kat gets home, Andrew calls her, telling him how much fun he had that night. "That you for introducing me to your friends. That means a lot to me," Andrew says.
Kat begins walking into her house but stops and tells Andrew she loves him. She feels her heart flutter as he blows her a kiss and then she continues inside.
Saturday Morning: The Outfit Disaster
The next morning, Kat gets up and goes downstairs to eat breakfast. After breakfast, she jumps into the shower. This time, she takes her time. She washes her hair twice and then conditions it. Then she sits there letting the warm water run down her body. Once out of the shower, wrapped in a towel, she starts her way up the stairs.
Halfway up the stairs, Kat hears a nock on the door. She starts back down the stairs when she realizes both Kol and Andrew are at her door. "Mom, can you get the door? I'm still in my towel and both Kol and Andrew are here. Please send Kol up to my room," Kat says before racing up the stairs.
Kat hangs around the stairs as she hears her mom greet her guests. Then Kol is told to go upstairs. Kol slowly climbs the stairs, she has bad knees, and is ushered into Kat's room.
"Kol," Kat says as soon as the door is closed, "I need help with an outfit. You know me, I never match. Well, today I want to look good. I actually want to match!"
"Kat, slow down. You don't need to change just because of a guy. Be yourself. If he doesn't like you for who you are, he's not worth your time," Kolenya states.
"But he does like me for me. He began liking me the first time we went to Teen Night. You know, the day Justin was showing off for me. I just want to look good for him. Nothing more," Kat says tearing apart her closet.
"Ok! Ok! But that doesn't mean you have to match. You look good in anything you wear. I don't know how you do it with these ugly clothes, but you pull it off anyways," Kol says, teasing Kat about her clothes. Kat likes to wear really strange things. She has a shirt the colors of sherbert ice cream, blue gator skinned Capri�s, and a lot of other wacky things.
Kol rummages through some clothes and pulls out a pair of Capri�s. The Capri�s are white with brown, black, and green flowers on them. She lays the pants over Kat's TV, the only place not covered with clothes. She then goes to a different pile and rummages around a bit before pulling out a white bra. She lays this on the TV and then goes to a different pile of clothes. She rummages around one last time and pulls out a white tank top with blue flowers on it.
"Here, this is your outfit for today."
