Up for Sale/Trade 02/04
This is a 1955 (Date inside Power Supply) VHF 2 channel, yes, Motorola solid state transciever.  It is in working order and power output tests at 100 miliwatts into a dummy load.  Maybe it should have more output but I haven't been able to find a schematic or take the time to check the finals.  I have had no trouble using the 146.94/34 repeater here in town with this radio.  It also has a 146.88 pair for simplex in the number 2 position.  The Microphone is a Shure brothers matching CB21A from the same year.  This microphone however is missing the carbon/crystal element.  I tested it using an older telephone mike element a while back, but it is too large to fit in the mike housing.  Audio was fine with that test.  You would need to replace the element.   Received audio is very good and you can see the standard SO-239 antenna connector in the front above the volume control.  I don't really know any history on this radio but it probably would be great for a collector.  It was designed to be portable witha battery too, as it has an external/internal power switch as seen to the upper right of the speaker.  The speaker box is on a swivel too so it can be aimed to the side when the radio is set up on its back facing up.  Someone added the mini plug on the speaker for recording I am guessing.  There is pitting on the chrome handles and some rust/discoloration on the case.  I am looking to either sell it (Make me an offer), or trade it for a good UHF SWR/Wattmeter.  Email me at [email protected] for more information and contact if you are interested.
Please wait for pictures to load as I wanted the lettering to show up well.
Shure CB21 Microphone (very cool housing)
Radio plus power supply
This is an old 49mHz RPU (Remote Pickup Unit) used for radio station remote broadcasting, probably from the 1950's, found during a radio station transmitter site cleanup.  The housing could either be restored or rebuilt into something amateur useful.  I thought about setting it up for something on 6 meters, which I don't have time for.  Maybe a QRP type unit could be built in the housing using the intact telescoping antenna you can see on the side.  Anyway, I would like to trade it for some type of old microphone, but am open to all offers.  Please email me at [email protected] if you are interested or want more information.
