My
career goal is to become a
professor at a prestigious university. I plan to obtain my
Masters
of Education in Learning and Technology with an emphasis on Educational
Computing. Pursuant to this goal, I am currently enrolled in the
ETEC525 course. Please visit the class homepage by clicking on the
link below. Presently I am a software developer. I have
decided to change careers as I have grown weary of the work I do as a
consultant. Since I have such a rich background in computers and
programming, I have chosen to leverage my background and move into an
initial position as an technical educator. I intend to use my
advanced degree to help with
that transition. The plan is to use my degree in order to secure a
teaching job at a community college. With my extensive experience
in Information Technology (Over 18 Years) and my Masters degree in
Educational Technology, I should be more than qualified to teach
computers and/or programming at the junior college level. Click
on the resume link below to get
a glimpse of my
work
experience. Once I have successfully began to teach, I intend
return to school and pursue my doctorate in African American
Studies. My ultimate goal is to become a Professor of African
American Studies at a Historically Black College.

My
most memorable class thus far has been the ETEC578 course. I
really
enjoyed this course. This is a course in the design of
instruction. I found this course to be very interesting because I
have been yearning for knowledge on how one would go about
task of teaching. I do not have a problem learning most
technology
because I have been working with it for most of my adult life.
This class involved a project. My project was for me to
design and
develop an original piece of instruction. I learned what is
involved in preparing your materials in order to instruct. It was
my first time participating in such a project. The feedback from
my partner and from the instructor was extraordinary. By the end
of the class, I had developed my materials and actually conducted field
tests in order to gauge how effective my instruction would be.
The
materials are now complete and in a couple of weeks I will embark on my
first opportunity as an instructor. I truly enjoyed the class and
I am very proud of the work that I produced. I
chose my undergraduate degree based on marketability. As a more
mature person, I now realize that I must have passion for the work that
I do in order to lead a fulfilling life and to excel in my chosen
area. I am no longer
interested in being a software developer. I am interested in
becoming the very best educator that I can become. My first goal
on my way to becoming a professor is to earn my Masters degree and
teach computing classes at a community college. This path allows
me to leverage my
Bachelors degree and the many years of experience that I have attained
in the field. Below is a list of some of the clients that I have
developed software for the last few years.
