Hi, I am Kylan and you have stepped into my world of flawed heroes and individuals searching to find their place in the world. Maybe that is what I like so much about Tim Drake (Robin) and Richard Grayson(Nightwing). These two characters have both been trained by the world's greatest detective, Batman, and are constantly under his scrutiny. Think about it...I mean really think about it. How would you feel if you were a teacher or a doctor and you were trained by someone who was recognized as the top autority in his/her field. Imagine how you would feel if every move you made, every decision you acted upon, was measured not against your peers, but against the one who trained you? That would lead to a lot of sleepless nights and unresolved stress issues. I know you're thinking, "but these are comic book characters", and they are. But the situation that they exist in is very real. I have always favored Robin over Batman. Always. When Dick Grayson was asked to give up the mantle of Robin in order for someone else to take it over that was similar to what happens when we become adults and leave home to make our way in the world. Dick is still trying to find himself. He knows that he does not want to be like Bruce Wayne (Batman) and at the same time he needs to make his mark where he lives. He becomes a police officer in the most corrupt city in the US...Bludhaven (think Detroit mixed with Youngstown and you've got it). Batman frowns upon this decision but Dick isn't in his house anymore so he lives by his own rules. Sound familiar?
