Dog Days of Winter
January 29, 2002.

I'll admit it, this diary entry is a little late. I had planned on updating things last week, but then I decided to wait until the weekend, when I would have new pics available. Well, that was the plan, anyway. I did have the photos by Saturday but, the disk machine at the store decided to take a holiday so the negatives had to be sent out. I'm hoping to get the disk tonight when we go out so that I can post the pics of the newest family member.

On to other things. Kylan and I were busy demolishing parts of the house over the weekend. Sort of. We finished sanding the floor in the attic and this weekend we plan to put a few coats of polyurethane on it...our library will soon take shape! We also tore out some of the cupboards in the master bedroom. Kylan loved being able to beat on them with a mallet to get them down! Getting those cupboards out is important...we'll finally get to put together the new bed we bought around Christmas. It will still be a couple of weeks before that happens though. We have to apply some filler and do some sanding to smooth out the walls a bit, and then we can do some painting.

As for the dogs, they are acting more like siblings everyday. Chasing each other around, playing, fighting, and falling asleep next to each other. Banzai is doing better at housetraining but she still doesn't like being outside alone. I think it has something to do with the fact that she was abandoned at the door of the animal shelter when she was 2 months old. Then again, Spirit was pretty clingy to begin with as well.

Until next time,
D.
