Seeing nothing but devastation The storm came last night Now so much is broke. It arrived without warning Behind dark ominous clouds The wind picked up quickly And the rain began pouring. Lightning spidering across the sky Weaving an intricate web of light Illuminating the darkness And everything else insight. The thunder began bellowing Rocking the whole house Booming so loudly But it was only the beginning. The sirens began to sound As the clouds swirled in the sky Picking up everything And throwing it around. Down the twister came Taking on a random path. Destroying everything in its way Leaving a terrible aftermath. Tall buildings now are rubble. Power lines down. Its hard to believe This is our town. Many without homes No where to go What do they do now That the storm gave its show? Dont start picking up yet For more is on the way Maybe if we cross our fingers It will all just go away. |
