Anakubo Kousaku is the author and artist of the Manga Pocket Monsters, which ran in KoroKoro magazine before the premier of the anime, and for many years afterwards. He was born in Iwate Prefecture, Japan, in 1957, and has been working on shounen manga since 1980. His past titles include Ore wa Otoko da! Kunio-kun, Origin Boy Gyao and Super Gyaru wa o Tsuki.
