| Sergeant First Class Karl D. Lorenz is a native of Milwaukee, WI. He entered the Army in May 1994, attending Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC, and AIT at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, earning the MOS 63G, Fuel and Electrical Mechanic. SFC Lorenz was awarded the MOS 63X Wheel and Track Vehicle Mechanic upon promotion to Sergeant First Class. SFC Lorenz has served in several leadership positions to include Squad Leader, Training NCO, Shop Foreman, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Inspector, Fuel and Electrical Section Sergeant, Automotive NCOIC, Platoon Sergeant, Maintenance Control Supervisor, Small Group Leader, and Senior Small Group Leader.. His overseas assignments include: Republic of Korea (2 tours), and Germany. Stateside assignments include FT Hood (2 tours), and is currently assigned to Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. SFC Lorenz's military education includes Primary Leadership Development Course; Basic NonCommisioned Officer Course, Advanced NonCommissioned Officer Course, Master Driver Course, Hazmat Handlers Course, Combat Lifesavers Course, Standard Army Training Systems Course, Instructor Basics Course, Small Group Instruction Course, Systems Approach to Training Phase I and II, and Level I Combatives. His awards and decorations include: the Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), Decius Wadsworth Award, and the Drivers/Mechanics Badge (Dr-W). He has been married to Brook N. Loucks of East Canton, OH for over 8 years.
