| Race report,race 8 last race of season and personal best. | ||||
| Well, the last time my writin work was posted on this site I stated that I would try very hard to make the last race of my first season one that wouldnt be forgoten soon.I think I acomplished that.This weekend was by far my best.Thought I do not yet have times to say by how much, I can safly say it will be a dramitic differance between my last best and this weekend.So whatmade is so good?Well, everything.I used to base succsess on if I had crashed.Talk about the wrong attitude.You see at the begining of the year I was progressing well, and I even ran with Pual and Ron.But I started to get scared, unnereved and I slowed down alot.In fact, so much I was placing terible,and people noticed.I was teribly inconsistant.I mean, the differance was tortise hair differance.Some days Id run with the top group other days Id be trying to pass Shawn with no accomplishment(no offence to Shawn, we understand).But today changed it all.Just before practice my mom told me not to crash.I told her I specificly planned on crashing, maybe more than once, becuase if you dont crash in the rain you are deffinitly not pushing yourself hard enophe.And, i went out, I was fast, adn sure enophe, after a few spectacualer saves I crashed.With Ron behind me and me wanting to stay in front of him for a couple corners I added a genorous amount of throttle exiting turn one.TGhe back slid around and next thing I knew I was staring straight at Ron, rolling backwards.The bike fliped and the handle bar slammed into my leg.Ron stopped and asked if I was ok, and I shrugged it off.Looking at it know a couple hours later its starting to look pretty colors. :() But overall, it was somthing I could shrug off and learn from.During the qualuifier I did very well, just shy of Ron by .050 seconds and in front of the dirt tracker brothers.And about 30seconds in front of Shawn(no offence to Shawn we understand).For the heat I got n exelent start, but I was stuffed by a couple of people.I ended up in front of the smaller of the two dirt tracker brothers and of course Shawn,(no offence to Shawn, we understand).The kid who Im pretty sure is named Travis got around me and I spent the intire race dicing with him.Great fun.And I was fast to.My best time was actualy better than the kids, and throught the corners I would consistantly catch right up to him and nearly run into his wheel.Finnaly, the last lap came and I knew I had to make a move.I did it in the carousell, a place I found a good line to stuff people.Unfortunatly we came out of the last corner neck and neck and his heavily modified xr100/80/105/god knows what disk braked monster of a bike and 60 pounds of rider ate me up and spit me out, allowing him to go around me.Good race.I had so much fun and was soooo fast.Then, finnaly, the main.Again I got kindof a bad start, and I ended up again in front of only Shawn and the kid was right in front of me.For awhile we kept with the pack and had I got around him soon enophe I may have been able to finish in front of more people.However, he slowed me down while I tried to pass him.Eventualy the group fadded into the horizon and out of sight and I gave 110% trying to pass him.A couple of times I came close and actualy got ahead of him,but everytime his fire breathing highly illega hybrid of an xr over powered me.I was unable to get around him, but I worked up one heck of a sweat tring to.Definatly me fastes race ever.Next year Im racing like this everytime.It should be noted that the qualifier,. heat and main were run on the 11x bike loand to me from Ron.Also, on my offroad excursion in the back field I mannaged to knock of the muffler on my bike, and rode it for a while with a straight pipe, untill some kind fellow gave me a friendly reminder we were already fighting the state about noise issues.Much apreciated. You know who you are.Other thing to mention is that I once again finished in front of Shawn,nenner nenner nenner (no offence to Shawn,we understand) and that I want to thank all the people who helped ,me out and was supportive.Ron,for all the stuff Ive borrowed and all the knowladge ive gained.Pual for giving me the best advice of all,"dont give up",My perents for bike entry fees and leathers,and oh ya all that food and shealter and stuff too,SHAWN becuase hes done more work on my bike than I have and owns more parts of my bike than I do,and hes even put up with all my crap.
