Janene never planned on doing LD rallies, and Sunday was saying she would never ride in one of these things again. Maybe volunteer, and go for a short 4 or 5 hundred-mile ride while I ran the rally. By Monday she was saying that next year, we are going to trailer the bikes down and home. By Tuesday, it was trailer down, do the rally, and ride home. Hmm, I wonder if there is going to be a White Stag in Beatty this year? It�s almost three months away, plenty of time to convince her that she really needs to do this again!
There are a lot of people I�d like to thank for helping me along the way and long before we ever left Oregon for New Mexico. Janene put up with my end of the day grumpiness, followed wherever I led, and never complained. Russ Downing has given encouragement, lent equipment, and in general been a good friend. Thanks Russ. John O�Keefe, Jim Winterer, Leon Begeman, and the entire LD Rider and Wet Leather e-mail lists have given encouragement, inspiration, and in general fed my passion to do this.
