Dentures

If you are missing teeth, your dentist can replace them with dentures. This procedure not only offers better oral health for you, but also improves your appearance and enhances your smile.

For health reasons, replacing missing teeth prevents difficulty in maintaining the health of your gums and other teeth. It also protects your jaw from developing problems with maintaining its structure, which effects your overall facial structure. Therefore, replacing missing teeth keeps you healthy and looking younger longer.
Dentures can be created in two forms, either complete or partial depending ion your individual needs. Complete dentures replace all of your teeth on the upper or lower jaw. They are created to duplicate the appearance of your natural teeth and gums. Impressions of your teeth, bite and jaw shape are taken in order to recreate your original teeth as closely as possible.
Partial dentures replace missing teeth when there are still some of your natural ones in place. They are generally attached by metal clasps or other precision attachments. Depending on the type of partial that is made for you, crowns may be placed on the remaining teeth that will hold the denture in place. Any supporting teeth must be in good health to be used for this purpose.
If you are missing either some or all of your teeth, you may want to consider being fitted with complete or partial dentures. To learn more, please contact Dr. Michael Iott and Associates today.
