B. H. Glymph of Fair Play Dies -- Services Set Today At Beaverdam Church For Well Known Man

     Backman Henz Glymph, 80, well known farmer of the Fair Play community, died at his home Saturday after an illness of two weeks.

     Mr. Glymph was a native of Newberry county, the son of the late Joseph and Nannie Reed Glymph, but had made his home at Fair Play for the past 63 years.  He was a member of the Beaverdam Baptist church.

     Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Mary Sullivan Glymph; five sons, Joe S. Glymph, Monroe G. Glymph, Wallace N. Glymph, Olin L. Glymph, Louis M. Glymph; three daughters, Mrs. Henry M . Lovinggood Mrs. Horace G. Cowan, and Mrs. Dora Harbin; two half-brothers, Thomas and R.T. Feltman; 30 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be held from the Beaverdam Baptist church of Fair Play tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. Glenn Bolch, assisted by Dr. D. D. Lewis, officiating.  Interment will be in the adjoining cememtery, with the following grandsons acting as pallbearers:  Shelor G. Harbin, Benman L. Lovinggood, L. Marett Glymph, Backman H. Glymph, Max C. Glymph and Olin L. Glymph, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of the Beaverdam Baptist church and T. L. Wooten, J. B. Patrick, Emmett Moseley, B. J. Grubbs, J. L. Sheldon, Rob Durham, Cicero Durham, Ode Richardson, Davis Glenn, Sam Glenn, Tugaloo Durham, Tom Bruce, Bob Glenn, L. B. Marrett, W. R. Davis, Thomas Isbell, Luther Marett, Joe Outz, Jim Bruce, Bethel Crow, A. Sloch, Jeff Lanier, Bub King, Manel Davis, Jim Wooten, H. F. Loftis, W. F. Casey and B. H. Cole.  The body will lie in state at the family residence near Fair Play until the hour of the funeral.
