Who are we?
Born, raised and still living in Tornado Alley, I distinctly remember my parents often making us get out of our house and  go outside to get  into our icky and scary 150 yr old, dirt floor, must-a-been haunted, dark, musty, wet, cob-web lined stone cellar several times each spring to wait out the storm in safety underground.  Tornados seemed to appear from no-where and without warning at times  in our small rural town of 250 people so we learned at an early age to weather watch & keep your eye on the sky!

More about us . . .

Leaving  rural NE Ohio, my family moved to the big cities of DFW, TX where each spring we would freak out over the same storms but well into September & October at times!  I found that I weirdly & terribly missed that icky, scary, haunted, wet, smelly old cellar that we hated running to so often for protection!  A few years later, after meeting my hubby, we moved to Kansas City where we not only got to watch the storms from a totally unobstructed view many miles away but where we also spent even more time ducking Severe Storms & Tornados every spring.

We spent much of April, May, June & July of every year intently watching these storms develop, grow stronger, begin rotating and move right over our heads & home,  from the false sense of protection, safety  & comfort of our finished basement and in front of & with the local TV Weathermen & Weather Radio.   Finally, after years of being terrified & always hiding out, and after having been chased home one too many times by a Tornado right on our tail,  having several touchdowns just blocks from us and after years of seeing so much Tornado Damage up close & personal everywhere around our family and friends in Ohio, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma & Texas over the past 20 yrs, we finally turned the corner & started to see the storms for what they really are...a unique force of nature that needs to be constantly studied, monitored & understood even more but most of all, we started to have more respect for these phenomenons as they develop, mature & die.

Since then, we've found  little else as ever-changing and beautiful as a developing storm set against a bright blue sky or the setting sun.  Super Storm Cells  are so exciting and intense to watch from an unobstructed & safe view.  It is a live action show across the vast plains sky.  It is ever changing and begs you to learn more about them.

Although we have never Storm Chased, we have too many times seen & been close enough to Tornados to know exactly the loss of life & devastation that they are capable of.  It is an  eye-opening experience for anyone witness these severe storm weather events up close & personal, especially in the wide open skies of the plains!  We've sat many hours watching storms build and following their paths!  While still frightening, we began to see them in a new light.  One day, we hope to become Spotters ourselves so we can just do even a small part to help save more  lives!  Although the science of warnings are so much more advanced today and fore-warnings are getting longer & longer, every storm gives an opportunity to learn & understand more.  There is still so much more to learn.

We dedicate our Pics & site to all those we know & those we don't know who have had their lives tragically & forever changed by the wrath & fury of these severe storms.  To these following highly  valued individuals who we appreciate so much:   NWS, SPC, to all TV Weatherpeople, the Weather Scientists, the Spotters in the field & the Storm Chasers who risk life & property working countless hours just to give us an opportunity to learn even more while helping keep the general public safe & informed,.  These people work so hard, many without pay or recognition,  just to try and add even 1 more second of warning time all the while putting themselves in danger directly in the path of an on-coming Tornado in hopes of planting scientific instruments & devices in its path for a chance to learn even more while at the same time giving the world some of the most interesting & awesome videos & still pictures of these fantastic severe storms ever seen, while educating others & thus helping to keep more people safe!  Knowledge is power!

As for us, our little piece of Tornado Alley consists of I-35 North & South and I-70 West & East, where we've spent and still spend the majority of our years watching & experiencing so many of these extreme weather events while driving to & from family visits!  I guess we finally decided, "if you can't beat em, join em"!   The awesome forces that make up a Tornado and it's  unpredictable path as well as wrath has no rhyme or reason making it a fascinating entity to watch & study.  Remember,  it's better to be safe & stay informed then sorry!   Severe Storms are both addicting & awe inspiring!   THANKS for visiting our Web Site & Viewing our Pics!  Don't forget to sign our Guest Book above.

Be Aware of your weather, keep your eyes to the sky  & STAY SAFE!
