BIOGRAPHY

Darius was born October 9, 1981 in Belleville Illinois. Darius was raised in East St.Louis, one of the poorest cities in the US. College scouts noticed him as early as junior high. In high school he received letters from colleges nearly every day.During the summers Darius played for one of the top AAU teams,the Illinois Warriors. DM attended Lincoln HS in E. St. Louis during his freshman and sophmore seasons.But then the two schools in E.St.Louis merged to form E.St.Louis HS .Darius averaged 22 points, 12 rebounds and 7 blocked shots during his senior and led East St.Louis to a third place finish at the state tournament.He was named Illinois Class AA Mr.Basketball.

Darius commited to St. John's University during his junior season. But failed to qualify academically. So he did what most people expected him to do and made himself eligable for the NBA draft. Expected to be a lottery pick, Darius was drafted third overall by the LA Clippers. A lot of people were outraged that the Clippers had drafted him.

The Clippers were known as a horrible franchise that didn't care about the team or players. But to everyones surprise the Clips drafted Darius's longtime friend Quentin Richardson and made a trade to get Corey Maggete. Now the Clippers are a team loaded with talent and has potential to be the next great team. Darius amazed fans with his 7 dunks during the rookie game. Darius is now making the highlight reals everynight for his rim-rocking dunks and just made the NBA All-Rookie 1st Team..
