KCOM in Crisis: Change is Needed
CHANGE IS NEEDED AT KCOM
The following group of physicians remain firm in their belief that their actions were necessary for the betterment of our college and our profession. They do not want more money, power, or position at the college. Their commitment is simply for the betterment of our college and the preservation of our profession. With continuing dedication to the profession and in spite of losing their positions at the college, their objectives remain the same. These objectives will place the school on a corrected course that will genuinely improve the college for all future graduates. The first objective has already taken place: removal of the dean, Michael Kuchera, D.O. due to ineffectiveness and lack of qualifications.
1.  A genuine national search for a new dean with solid credentials and a vision for the future of the college.
2.  Removal of the President due to ineffectiveness and lack of leadership and his replacement by a qualified D.O. as the next KCOM president.
3.  A restructuring of the board of trustees with a D.O. majority appointed from or recommended by the KCOM alumni board (KOAA). This has the potential to greatly enhance the governance of the college and improve the direction of the board and college.
4.  A return to a more balanced curriculum concerning the teaching of osteopathic theory and methods and requiring trained, qualified, and experienced on-campus physicians to teach clinical courses.
5.  A complete, independent audit of college finances for the past 10 years with public disclosure.
