| Who is the Clinical Faculty ‘Clinical faculty, as mentioned in this document refers to the on-campus osteopathic physicians of the K.C.O.M. faculty actively engaged in the training of our future colleagues. The clinical faculty is directly responsible for academic training third and fourth students as well as significant didactic teaching in the first and second years on the K.C.O.M. campus. The clinical faculty have private practices, apart from K.C.O.M. ‘Clinical faculty’ as used in this document excludes: administrative D.O.’s, off-campus D.O.’s, administrative Ph.D’s and clinical Ph.D’s.’ (Please note: Only a few members of the family practice department and none of the OMM department supported the vote of "no-confidence". A substantial number of these physicians are employed by the college and have no private practice apart from the college. These individuals were not asked to participate in the vote in deference to this circumstance.) -The 36 clinical D.O. teaching faculty represent over 450 years of clinical academic experience. -This clinical faculty delivers over 70% of the second year curriculum. (over 700 hours) -This clinical faculty delivers a substantial amount of the K.C.O.M. sponsored CME programs. -This clinical faculty is all board certified or eligible, residency trained, and a significant number have post-residency fellowship training. -Many of these clinical faculty members are engaged in K.C.O.M. related clinical research. -This clinical faculty is actively engaged in private practice apart from campus. -Courses taught at K.C.O.M. by the clinical faculty include: pathology, pediatrics, radiology, rheumatic diseases, respiratory diseases and allergic disorders, neurology, hematology/oncology, gastroenterology, renal diseases, endocrinology, general surgery, differential diagnosis, emergency medicine, ophthalmology, oncology, obstetrics/gynecology, orthopedic surgery, urology, anesthesiology, surgery lab |
