She is a felinoid with a dark orange mane of hair, yellow eyes with slit shaped pupils, light orange fur covers her entire body and black claws can extend from her fingers and toes.  She also has a long tail.
Background:
Lirurr was born on 2355 along with two of her fourteen siblings.  Early in her life she showed little interest in space even though several of her clan mates had chosen careers in Starfleet.  Her calling seemed to initially be in art as she created several impressive paintings and ceramic pottery during her child hood.   Her interest in art continued into her teenage years and was hoping to enroll in a prestigious school for the arts after finishing her primary education.

Her perceptions changed when one of her brothers spoke to her about attending a recruiting program for Starfleet which would include speeches from many famous officers.  This recruitment drive served its purpose for Lirurr as she became completely entranced by the possibilities that were offered.   She decided that she could easily continue her artwork as a hobby and enrolled in Starfleet Academy at seventeen.  Though she never had any interest in engineering before she chose it as her study and after several hard weeks of near failing grades she discovered her natural aptitude for engineering and her trained hands from working with art most of her life proved to be a big asset.

After graduating in 2376, ranked 136 out of a class of 343, she was put to work right away as a Starship repair and maintenance engineer at Starbase 142.  The job didn't excite her much and she found herself bored most of the time.  She made a few close friends during her year long term on the Starbase but never really felt like she belonged.   Finally in 2377 she was assigned to the ill fated Starship the USS Ontario, an Excelsior class vessel.  She served another year on this vessel as an engineering officer, making several close friends in the rest of the engineering staff and several of the ship's senior staff members.   The excitement of space travel and the much less boring work in her opinion, as well as time to herself to focus on creating artwork and perusing other hobbies were all reasons for her joining Starfleet.  This was not meant to last however as a rogue Romulan vessel manned by a separatist party of terrorists who strongly opposed both the Federation and the Romulan Empire launched a surprise attack on the aging excelsior class Ontario which was currently studying an anomaly that was in reality a trap set by the rogues.   The ship was crippled and raided for supplies viciously and left dead in space.  By the time a rescue ship arrived there were only a hand full of survivors including Lirrur who was deeply affected by the deaths of her friends and shipmates.

It took several months of counseling before the shaken Lirrur was fit to return to duty and even then she was still slightly disturbed for some time.  From 2378 on she served aboard the Ambassador class USS Myers and improved her engineering skills by several fold which took her mind off the disaster of the USS Ontario.   She stayed more distant from the crew members of the Myers but her engineering skills were now undoubtedly excellent which warranted a promotional transfer to the USS Merlin as its Assistant Chief Engineer.
Personality Profile:
Lirrur is easy to get along with as are most Caitian's but she's not quite as outgoing.  She is sometimes frightened to make friends do to an incident earlier in her career.  She is also quite emotional and empathetic at times which can cause her to fold under pressure, a fault that has kept her from securing a position as a chief engineer.
