Being a successful science analyst especially in chemistry has always been my goal.
I think university is a unique place for me to achieve this goal since I can develop my
science potentials to the full there. The access to well-equipped laboratories, distinguished
chemistry scholars and even interesting experiments can motivate me to have further analysis
in chemistry. Apart from these, university life can also widen my intellectual horizons
and lead me to acquire leadership abilities through the investigation of different projects
with other students.
I am good at holding some activities for my classmates because of my efficient
planning and organization and leadership. Besides, my teachers say I am a person who never
give up easily since I am able to work with concentration and persistence. Also, I am
an active, helpful and optimistic person.
However, with regard to my weaknesses, I admit I am too impatient and impulsive,
but I will try my best to remedy my weaknesses.
Playing piano is my major hobby in the free time. I have passed my Grade 6 examination
and will take part in Grade 8 immediately after the AL. Also, I am keen on sports. I was
the football captain and club committee in my school and won many competitions under my
leadership. So, many people say I am special in playing both active and quite role in
the daily.
Chemistry course is my first choice because I like reading chemistry books and
doing experiments. I have good determination and analytical skills. Mostly I am the fastest
and most accurate one when doing experiments. I think there is no reason for me to choose
other subjects but chemistry.
I am looking forward to studying in a tertiary institute, I think university education
will not only benefit me academically, but also strengthen my strong points as well as
correct my weak points. And i strongly believe that i can make use of the knowledge which
i learn from university in my future career.

I am an optimistic person and cheerful. I like making friends and staying with my friends
together. I always share my ups and downs with them. Therefore, I can acquire good communication
skills.
For my interest, I like reading newspapers, magazines and comic books. Reading can
broaden my horizon and make me know more and gain more. I also like sports such as swimming
and cycling. That can make me feel relaxed and become strong.
In school, I have taken part in many extra-curricular activities such as Student
Welfare Association and Science and Mathematic Club.In those activities, I have gained
the experience of co-operating with other students. Moreover, I developed my confidence
and leadership. I also learned how to hold a function, how to promote it and organise
it well. I've gained invaluable experiences from them.
The subject I like are English and biology. English is very useful for communicating
with foreigners. I feel English is interesting because I learn more phrases and the rules
of English. I also like biology since it is not always recited. The most important thing
is to understand the principles. I also learn more about our human bodies and differnt
kinds of other organisms which are important for us.
Sometimes, I feel that the study is hard work, but I am eager to learn. As this,
I believe that study enables a person to be more competent and this contributes to a peron's
success.

I believe that tertiary education can broaden my horizon and gain my professional knowledge.
Marketing, Accountancy and Biochemistry are the fields that most appeal to me.
As an optimistic and outgoing person,I have actively participated in different kinds
of school activities and some meaningful voluntary services. For instance, I was a member
of the Badminton Club in Form 5 and a Secretary of the English Club in Form 6.In these
activities,it was a great opportunity to interact with other youths of different age groups
and racial backgrounds. This has further broaden my perspective towards society as this
is important in the fields of business.I have also been a volunteer in Form 6.This has
taught me to be more confident in everything I do.
Moreover,I have attained rewards for being attentive in class.I have been awarded
the Personal Development Awards Scheme(2001).As a monitor in Form 5 and Form 7,I have
further developed leadership skills and acquired abilities to communicate with others
and problem-solving skills.
In my leisured time,I am interested in making friends and reading. From making friends,I
can extend my social circle and have a better understanding of other people's lifestylies, cultures
and characters. As a boy who likes thinking and exploring new things, reading can broaden
my knowledge and improve my language skills.
I do realize that studying in university demands much initiative and the abilities
to balance both academic work and extra-curricular activities.I strongly believe that
I have the potential and ability to achieve it.I really hope to have tha chance to study
in university and make a useful contribution to society and my country in future!

I aspire to further my studies in university since I was young. I believe that I can enrich
my knowledge, broaden my interests and develop my professional skill through tertiary
education.
My favourite subjects are chemistry and mathematics. I am fond of learning chemistry
theories and concepts. Thus, I am really interested in studying and doing research on
it in order to interpret more about the chemistry technology today related to our life.
During my secondary schooling, I was the committee member of Mathematics and Science
Club in school. As I am a science student, this club enhances my interest in science and
gradually I develop a scientific mind. In addition, I was the chairman of the Magic Club
and a volunteer in school. I learnt how to organize activities and the leadership has
been developed as well. All of these things have contributed to my strong sense of responsibility
and I have also learnt how to get along with people well.
I worked as a production helper in a publisher during the summer holidays and I realized
certain facts about the daily operations of a company. This experience gave me the ability
to handle working independently, and also cooperating with others in a team.
I am an optimistic, independent and mature person that I can face different challenges.
Actually, I am capable of working individually and I think I have good powers of analysis.
I enjoy experiencing the lifestyle in other places and desire to join the exchange programmes
in universities in order to broaden my vision. I am looking forward to attending my tertiary
education and contributing my study to Hong Kong.

As the year of Form 7 comes to its close, it is the time for me to have a new
page in tertiary education. Gaining professional knowledge and experience in University
school life is my dream. I wish to develop my potential of study in Chinese medicine.
I am eager to be a Chinese Physician. Therefore, I would like to take Chinese
Medicine and Chinese Pharmacy as my first priority. I had many chances to contact Chinese
medicine when I lived in Mainland China. I was picturing myself being a best Chinese physician
that helped patients take a turn for better through Chinese medical treatment. I believe
that I will work hard in this field and then make a useful contribution to society.
Being a thoughtful, optimistic and responsible person, I have taken part in
the school voluntary service. I am happy and touched that I do help people by bringing
them the warmth. Having been the chairperson of Chinese culture and history club and the
vice-chairperson of school library team, which helps me to become more mature and have
more exposure in the areas of organization and planning. Moreover, I was the editor of
the school magazine, it was a great chance for me to work in team and make decisions.
As my various hobbies, I am interested in reading, which is the best way to
gain knowledge and broaden my horizon as well. I like gardening; hiking and playing badminton
that can let me have a healthy body and release pressure. Definitely, they are the best
ways to make friends.
I hope my application would be favorably considered and I would be given a
precious chance to achieve my goal.

It is always been my aspiration to study biology in a tertiary institution because I
have long derived a great deal of satisfaction from studying biology and want to pursue
further in this field when I get into the university. As an science student, I also believe
in learning through direct experience . Thus I used to doing intensive experiments and
exercising dicretionary power. Taking science subjects trains me to be insistent upon
truth.
My hobbies are playing the piano and collecting stamps. I like collecting stamps because
I can know the different cultures of different countries from their stamps. I like playing
the piano because the music can make me relax and this is also a good method to express
my feelings.
Over the last year, I have taken part in voluntary services. These give me a
sense of community and I am able to meet people who are less fortunate than I am. I
gain plentiful experiences in being the vice chairman of the Magic Club and secretary
of the Science Club in school, as I am able to sharpen my skills of leadership and
interpersonal relationships. I perfectly realize the need of work with others, not only
for getting the best outcome but also for maintaining a good relationship with people
through team spirit.
I must admit that I am not a mature person, that is why I need further training and
studies in university. I will try my best to overcome such a weakness
I am looking forward to being given the chance to further my studies in the field
of biology and enrich my knowledge in a tertiary institution. I hope that I am able to
make the best of my knowledge to contribute to society.
Being a university student is my wish as it is really challenging that requires students
with critical and analytical abilities.I have full confidence in proving myself eligible
for tertiary education. I would like to be a nurse, social worker or biologist in the
future.
From my experience as a volunteer who worked with nurses and social workers in United
Christian Hospital, it has motivated me in pursuing my career as a nurse or social worker.
I have learnt and understood more about the job what they do and how they cop with patients,
needy people and intense situations. I believe that I am a caring, patient and an attentive
person ready to help others. This experience also taught me the importance of being patient,
attentive and diligent as these values are necessary when dealing with patients or clients.
I was a vice-chairman of the Community Youth Club and a member of volunteer team in
my school. These activities gave me lots of chances to have direct contact with the elderly,
handicapped and disabled people. Moreover, my work as a committee member in Drama Club
also motivated me to develop optimistic and humorous characters. I bring lots of fun and
cheers to my friends. I am responsible, cooperative and selfless. I like to work with
people and easily get well with everyone. However, I have to confess that sometimes I
am rather stubborn, especially when I come across difficulties, I would not give up until
they are solved.
Besides, biology is also the course I look forward to taking in university. I am interested
in the nature of the world, especially living organisms. I am not a gifted student but
I will study conscientiously and industriously. I really hope that I will be given a chance
to study. I will certainly endeavor to prove myself eligible for studying in university.

As my goal is to be a social worker, and only by studying in this faculty could I be a
professional social worker. Therefore, I make this in the highest priority.
I believe I am a conscientious, responsible and optimistic person with self-confident,
the initiative to learn.
I have joined the voluntary service last year, and got the second class award of it.,
through this service, I have learnt a lot, such as learning how to communicate with the
other old people and children, how to respect the old people and I have also learnt the
importance of team work. I think this work is very meaningful and so I want to become
a social worker. This is my dream. Moreover, I have been the committee member of my schools'
magic club and a member of the school library service group. And I was elected the class
monitor this year, and being a monitor, I became more responsible. I strongly believe
that it is very important for social work to own such ability. Besides, I have won the
merit of 53rd Hong Kong schools speech festival. Besides, I am interested in swimming
and playing table tennis.
However, I am not a gifted student, so I have to spend more time on studying, and must
be work harder.
Should I be given the chance, I will certainly in prove myself eligible enough for
the tertiary education.

| The subject which I am interested in is Biology.I choose this subject as my major because I am very interested in sciences, especially biological.Since the environment and animals have many secrets,I hope to find out the mystery about these and would like to develop my analytical ability.Besides being interest in biology,I also like to participate in voluntary services. So I have joined the school's voluntary group and I am the group leader.I have joined so many voluntary services,For example, visit the single elderly people, blind people, mantally retarded people etc.In my opinion, having the ability to help others is my fortune,it gives the needy people and me happiness and I find satisfaction.Through these services,I have learnt how to organize activities, learnt the importance of team work, develop my independence and learnt how to respect other people. Also,I have joined voluntary services for many time thus I got first certificate of merit. Therefore,I also would like to choose social work as my major.I believe I am an optimistic and active person as I like to join some outdoor activities. It should, however,be admitted that I am not good at sports and not mature enough,I hope I will improve these during the tertiary education. I have joined some curriculum activities.I have been a committee member of school's library for the past year, and also I am a monitor of my class.I like swimming, reading books and playing badminton. Moreover,I have won the merit of 53rd Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival. Studying at university will no doubt requires a lot of hard work and dedication, but I will try my best to fulfill my ambitions and aspirations. |
| From Form 1 to Form 4, I was a Scout's member. In Scout, it showed how important the sense of discipline and responsibility are. There were many group competition, so I have accustomed to work with others cooperately. Playing basketball acted as a regular activity for us to show team-work spirit. On the other hand, my independent personality has beed developed during this period because we held regular camps and outdoor activities in every year. As we know, there was a controversy in human's genetic cloning technology as it gave impact to the traditional morals. However, I think that the persistence development of genetic engineering will contribute our society and human beings effectively. I am interest in this field very much, so I make effort to strive for the goal of being a scientist in this field. I was, therefore, excited in doing every experiments in school. Furthermore, I took part in the Mathematics & Science Club when I was in Form 6 and I was pleasant to be the chairperson of the Club. Through the club's activities, I didn't only enrich much scientific knowledge but also improved my interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Tertiary education is a good pathway for me to equip myself perfectly, so I believe that studying in university is a splendid milestone of my life. |
Under this knowledge-based economy, being self-motivated, creative and having analytical
mind are definitely an advantage. I firmly believe university is a place where I can enhance
my personal developement and acquire various skills and knowledge.
Being a psychologist has always been my goal. It does not simply explain as a respectable
profession only, indeed, psychologists can help people solve their psychological problems
whatever their status, race or age is. I think curing one's mental health is more important
than the physical health. Besides, theories of psychology are also useful in many other
aspects such as business. Having better understanding of consumers' needs, companies must
have a better profit.Though studying psychology demands a great deal of perseverance,
I am confident I can overcome all the difficulties and make contribution to the society
in future.
As I would like to take my career which involves meeting people, working in the business
area is also suitable for me to gain satisfaction. So, I put most of my choice in the
business and social science faculties.
I am an active and optimistic person. Except doing academically well, a balanced school
life is essential for growth, so I have taken different kinds of extra-curricular activities.
Having been the chairperson of the Community Youth Club and a committee member of Drama
Club, I have not only learnt to become more mature and be responsible, but also have developed
my leadership skills. I believe these qualities are essential as a university student.
Additionally, I enjoy outdoor activities with my family and friends. Picnicking and
reading books are my favourite hobbies. Apart from this, I am very interested in travelling.
As through travelling, I can know more about different cultures and people in different
races in order to widen my horizon. However, my weak point is that I am a bit wilful.
Sometimes, this makes me ignore others' opinions. I hope I can overcome my weakness through
tertiary education.
I will cherish the opportunity of receiving tertiary education and trying my best to
participate fully in university life.

I think that studying in universities is the milestone in life since I believe that studying
in tertiary education can not only better qualify me, but also encourage all-round development.
I can participate in various activities and meet different people in there. At the same
time, I can have a free study style that I can manage my own time on study which is greatly
different from what I did in the secondary schools.
I am very active in extra-curricular activities. I had joined several clubs and participated
in various competitions in school, such as, the Inter-school Music and Speech Festival
(2001), the Inter-School Sports Day (2001) and the Inter-School Swimming Gala (2001).
In the year of being the Chairman of the Athletic Club, I tried to be the leader to
lead the committees and members during practicing and holding meetings. This has enhanced
my leadership competency, coordination with different people and my sophistication in
organising activities in a proper way. Also, being a member of Sports Club and Swimming
Team, I was the helper in many activities such as the Fitness Competition, in which my
horizons was broaden a lot. This helped me to cooperate with others in work like promotion
and decoration.
On the other hand, I am willing to serve others and contribute to the society. That
is why I joined the volunteer team in school. After many hours of social services, I had
a great improvement on getting along with others. Moreover, dealing with different kinds
of people in the society has helped me to build up my self-confidence.
I have always wanted to be a social worker and this thinking has been with me since
I was a little child because I would like to try my best to encounter any problems and
see through difficulties. I always think optimistically that coping with problems gives
me not only a big challenge, but also a valuable chance to gain experience and upgrade
myself. I always have the feeling of success after solving the problems. Also, I am willing
to help others, who are in adversity, to solve their problems because it makes me feel
happy and satisfactory and helps myself due to the ability of solving problems. Also,
I think that having ability to help others is my fortune. These are important qualities
to be a caring social worker, therefore it is suitable for me to do this job.
As the government is devoted to develop the sports in Hong Kong, a lot of talents are
needed in the field. I am so interested in sports that I am eager to contribute to its
developments with a big effort. I think it would be the best if I can cultivate the ability
in sports of next generation and develop the leisure and recreation in Hong Kong.
I totally believe that studying in universities is only the real beginning of my life
of learning. After this milestone, I can target a goal for my future and achieve a meaningful
life. After continuous practice and training, I am sure that I will be helpful to the
society, especially to the field which I am concentrating on.

Are you used to think your interest everyday? Or spending most of a day on your interest?
And I am used to do so since studying in Form 4.Because at that time, my school bought
a drum set and I and another classmate decided to group a band (he plays guitar and I
play the drums). Then I started to learn playing drums. In fact, I just stayed alone in
music room after school and tried to play by myself, I practised drumplaying patterns
which I listened in CDs.again and again. After about one month, we could play together
in harmony, and I could start to feel the exciting and satisfaction when playing. Perhaps
we could play well, many organizations invited us to have a performance., including our
school and especially The Boys' And Girls' Clubs Association Of Hong Kong. They provided
a place for us to play music for free, so they first invited us to perform in different
conditions, and one of them was in the headquarters of The Boys' And Girls' Clubs Association
Of Hong Kong. But I stopped to play drums because of my upcoming HKCEE exams. And luckily,
I was taken in Form 6 by my original school . But that did not mean that I could play
free, oppositely I needed to spend all of time on my study. I controlled myself not to
play drums although the sound of drums was always in my mind. I thought that this was
an affliction for me, and I promised myself that I must will do what I want to do after
graduation.
So, a chance for interview is very important for me, although my qualification
is not enough to let me study in university, but one thing that I always believe in is
that interest can lead people to do the best. Thank you!

Since I was a child, I was eager to help people around me. Therefore, I choose the course
of Social Work and Nursing as my band A choices in JUPAS.
To begin with, I have decided to take the course of Social Work on the grounds that
the experience of helping people with a variety of problems would be very rewarding. During
the Hong Kong eonomic downturn, everyone is annoyed deeply by different kinds of problems
such as emotional, health or work. I hope that I can acquire more advanced knowledge to
help them to solve those problems and make them happy enough to face the future brightly.
Furthermore, I chose the course of Nursing because I want to apply what I learned
in school in my career. Being a science student, I hope that I can further my study on
my favourite subjects, especially Chemistry and Biology, and use them as a professional
skill in my career. Also, I have a selfish motive on choosing this course. My parents
are getting older and their health is becoming worse, especially my mother, she has to
work around the clock and I am greatly concerned about her health. My desire is to acquire
more knowledge in the Nursing Department in order to give a professional caring techniques
to look after them in the future. Being a child of my parents, it is the biggest wish.
I am a sociable, inquisitive student. I joined the volunteer team in my leisure time
since I was in Secondary 1. I did over 40 hours voluntary works and got the 2nd honour
of Volunteer Scheme in school last year. Also, I am an active student, I like playing
basketball and swimming. I was the member of school swimming team since I was in Primary
4. Moreover, I was the vice-chairman of Sports Club, the treasures of Magic Club and the
committee member of Computer Club and Library Club, and I have gained a lot of valuable
experience through organising activties. Besides, I enjoy reading books and newspapers
to enrich my knowledge.
I hope that I can study in University to acquire more advanced knowledge and expand
my field of vision in order to help as much needy people as I can.

From the broad range of programmes offered by different universities, I have spent
quite a wheen of time on choosing the most suitable options from different institutions.
I have finally made a decision on the choices for my undergraduate programme which covers
mainly two aspects, science and business administration. The purpose of choosing these
programmes is that other than enriching practical knowledge which is useful for my future,
I would like to study those subjects which I really interest in.
I am quite enthusiastic and active towards learning especially for science which
I think is closely related to our daily lives. Apart from that I am familiar with handling
computers since I was one of the committees of the Computer Club and a member of I.T.
prefect team in form six. Managing data and analysing is not a problem for me, by using
my computer knowledge on building up web page, my teammates and I successfully entered
the final round of the web page design competition held by a local magazine, PCXpress
and I have assisted in making the web page for the interschool competition. Except academic
activities, I like sport very much. I was a committee member of football team.
Through these activities, I have learned a lot about co-operating with others in
different sides which help me to develop an outgoing mind and responsibility. So I think
studying in university is the best for me since I can expand my strength in order to face
challenges in my university life. But frankly, sometimes I am quite self-centered that
I would insist on my own idea and quite easy to have argument with others.
I truly hope that I can have an opportunity to study in one of my favorite institution.
And I am trying my best to achieve my goal.

This is my future career aspiration to be a graphic designer in this most competitive
field of Hong Kong. In leisure, I take a variety of design-related short courses for most
market standard softwares such as freehand, photoshop and flash. Recently, I have designed
over 20 posters as my curriculum project assignments and for school hobby clubs as well.
Creative thinking and innovative mind provides me ideas of different dimensions. A second
prize award in the joint school website design competition 2001 by Delia Group of Schools
can prove my genuine interest and capability in computer-aided design.
I treasure every opportunity of participating every extra curriculum activity, through
which I have benefited the skill of organising; and I enjoy helping my fellow schoolmates
as well. I am proud of being the chairlady of the Student Welfare Association, not as
much for the power and glory attached to the title, but more for the chance to serve the
chanllenges it poses to my abilities. I would describe myself as independent, outgoing
and mature but, to a certain extent, self-demanding and idealistic.
My interests diversifies. Beside design, I love reading. I have been being a part-time
librarian for my school library and public libraries. I enjoy reading which leads me to
a realm of knowledge and stimulates my every thought to be innovative. I also enjoy swimming
and cooking that swimming provides me a good physical and mind training while cooking
is a perfect drill of self-responsibility.
I am confident that I could live up to every challenge of whatever it may come from
any course I am about to be admitted. I look forward to seeing a brave new world of knowledge
in the coming university days.

It has long been my perception that University is a place that helps students to
equip themselves, increase their competence as well as develop their critical thinking
and creativity for the countless challenges in the future professional knowledge and
experience in University school life that I really want to gain from Tertiary education.
With the advances of modern technology in the 21st century, the standard of pharmacy
has been improve a lot. I believe that pharmacy can help the weak people. I would try
my best to contribute to our society with the knowledge acquired from University.
I'm an energetic, optimistic and kind-hearted person. Having been a Committee Member
of Mathematics and Science Club during 2001-2002. I had plenty of opportunities to learn
and gain practical experiences in science. I also joined the Volunteer Club in our school
in 2001-2002. I had lots of chances to serve others.
I'm also an outgoing person. Having been a Committee Member of Sports Club during
2001-2002. I like sports. For example, I like cycling, playing badminton, playing table-tennis
and so on.
I hope my application would be favorably considered and I would be given a precious
chance to achieve my goal.

As Hong Kong becomes more prosperous, money and power become more important. At the
same time, the relationship between people seems to become less essential. I think many
people may not notice this problem. It is important to develop a trustworthy relationship
between people, especially among children and youths. I'd like to learn more about ir;
therefore, I always read books about it.
For adults, much of their time is spent on work. I agree that money is important
but I don't think it means everything. This creates a lot of problems. Children and the
elderly are always ignored. Everyone needs a harmonious family but it seems to be disappearing.
When they feel sad and helpless, they need help from others. It is what I have experienced
and understood.
I believe that love is powerful, it can create, even mend everything. For instance,
some may feel lonely or even give up everything. If you give them much attention and care,
you can change their lives, giving them an optimistic view on life. In my experience,
it is a great feeling to help others in need! I hope that I can use my love to bright
other lives. It is my fortune to have this ability.
Experience can make people grow wiser. During my school life, I joined much voluntary
work at different associations. I've learnt a lot of valuable experiences from them. A
long time ago, I used to be an impulsive person. But after gaining these experiences,
I've learnt how to be patient and work with others. I've learnt more how valubale life
is from the needy. For example, I've learnt how fortunate I was when I visited disabled
persons. Somethimes, I feel frustrated, as I don't have the ability to change their situation.
However, I will keep on trying my best to help them and let them feel warm and happy.
Everyone has her or his own story. As they are nurtured in different families, different
characteristics will form. When you socialize with different people, it is always very
inspirational to hear their stories and help them whenever needed. Therefore, I want to
be a social worker - to contribute my experiences, efforts and love to this society.

Being a Form 7 student, I always have the dream of studying in university. I believe
that university life will help me develop an analytical mind and broaden my perspective.
Moreover, through university education, one can gain much in the field of knowledge and
develop a complete personality.
I would like to take social work as my first choice because the ultimate constituent
that determines my decision is my aspiration to be a social worker. When I encountered
the psychological problems, the advice given by the school social worker enabled me to
have some grasps of how to deal with these psychological problems. So, I want to major
in social work studies and I would be able to apply what I learn to serve the society.
Although studying is very important, I grasp every chance to improve myself. I
have been the vice-chairman of Library Service Group and Chinese & Chinese History Club.
Also, I have been one of the editors of the school magazine and have been engaged in voluntary
work at school, like visiting the elderly and the handicapped people. Through these activities,
I have learnt how to communicate with others, how to organize activities, and more importantly
I have developed independence of mind and confidence in decision-making. I think that
to help others is the source of happiness, so I will continue to take part in voluntary
work.
My hobbies are many and varied, reading, writing, cycling, playing badminton.
I am quite active and energetic, I like getting along with all people from all walks of
life. But, when I think something is right, I will stick to that. Sometimes it sounds
a little bit stubborn. I think this is my weakness but I try to improve.
I hope I can get a chance to be fully developed in university. I do believe that
I will do my utmost to achieve success in academic work and in activities.
