Goran Karadzov started his soccer career when he was 8 years
old by being selected to the FC Vardar Youth Academy. FC Vardar is the most
storied club in Macedonia,
located in the capital city of Skopje. Selections for the academy were on a yearly
basis, and usually Vardar had around 250
players try out for every team at every age.
Goran was selected every year until he turned 16 years old. At that time, he began his professional
playing career. Goran’s professional
career began with FC Metalurg in the Macedonian First Division. After two years of adjusting to the
professional ranks, Goran was ready to move on.
He was then offered a contract with FC Pobeda, one of the top three
clubs in Macedonia. After a short stint there, Goran realized one
of his childhood dreams by receiving a contract for his boyhood club, FC
Vardar. Goran blossomed at Vardar and his team won two Macedonian National Cups. After winning the two championships, the call
came asking Goran to join the Macedonian National Team. Even though Goran had played numerous games
for the U21 Macedonian National Team, playing for the senior team was the pinnacle
of his playing career. Playing for the
National team was what every boy in Macedonia grew up aspiring to. Goran had seven caps for the National Team
and even played alongside his brother Sasha representing their country. After
this successful stint with Vardar, Goran was transferred to FC Emelec in Ecuador. Then following a short return to the
Macedonian First Division, Goran received the opportunity that brought him to
the United States. Goran accepted a three year contract with the
Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League.
Goran is now excited to bring his extensive playing
experience to coaching and pass his knowledge of the game to the next
generation of players. Goran’s love of
the game and the kids that play soccer is a winning combination. Goran’s teams are highly successful,
competing against the toughest competition in the region. He also enjoys camps and clinics which allow
him to further the game in his new home country. Goran currently holds as USSF “D” coaching
certificate and is a student at Park University in Parkville,
Missouri, majoring in Finance.
