There are modern grocery stores in Hong Kong. They are smaller than
ShopRite, but they are filled with foods from all over the world. I was
surprised to see many American products, such as Oreos, granola bars, and many
of our common cereals. Many of the fruits and vegetables are imported
from Australia and New Zealand. |
|
Many people shop in the outside markets where you
can find locally grown fruits and vegetables, as well as fresh seafood. |

As a matter of fact, the seafood is so fresh it’s still alive! I saw fish, eels, lobsters, octopus, and sea urchins, as well as many
beautiful sea shells housing live animals. |
| There
are other types of shops too. The mall near school is very big and modern. It
puts the Palisades Mall to shame! Many of the stores, such as Marks and
Spencer are British. Many others, such as Bed and Bath and Sees Candies, are
American. The many restaurants have food from all over the world. I've seen a
French restaurant, as well as American, Italian, Indian, Japanese, Thai, and
Mexican. |
