The American Culture Box

P5 children loved seeing the cultural items my fourth graders put in the Culture Box. They were especially impressed that Eddie had given them his baseball! They studied all of the pictures glued to the outside of the box (thanks to Aileen, Tony, and Ruby), and then watched the video.

The students were interested in the pictures glued to the outside of the Culture Box.  They are magazine pictures showing American food, sports, money, movies stars, landmarks, people, etc.  Good job 4th Graders!

I was surprised to find that these children eat peanut butter too!

They were interested to hear about Natalie's horseback riding lessons.  Since they live in the city, most of them have never been on a horse.  They also wanted to touch everything - kids are kids everywhere!

The children are also familiar with Crayola crayons and Coca Cola - two items in our box.  They were surprised to see the Pokemon card, as it is also very popular in Hong Kong.   I'm sure Ms. O'Brien is seeing a lot of them in Japan this week!
