Yew Chung International School

I arrived at Yew Chung International School wondering what it would be like.  Everyone was so welcoming; I knew this was a place where I could learn much over the next three weeks.

This morning I met Mr. Faulkner and his twenty-three P5 students (10-, 11-, and 12-year olds).  They were very pleased to see the Culture Quilt my students worked on so hard.  They were interested in hearing about each square.  It is now hanging up in their classroom.

Each day the children have a lesson in Chinese.  The rest of the day their lessons are taught in English.  Most of  the children at the school are Hong Kong Chinese.  Their parents want them to know both Chinese and English, and to have an international education.  I am impressed by their good English and how well-traveled they are!  Several students in Mr. Faulkners class have even been to New York.
