Mrs. Everett's Class
|
This third week of school I am in Mrs. Everett’s P4 class. She is from California. She lived in the Philippines for over two years before moving to Hong Kong a year ago. |

The students worked hard on their math. As at Cottage Lane, their math is a balance of fact memorization and mathematical thinking. On this worksheet, they had to figure out what they could buy from the items shown at the top of the page, given a certain amount of money. |

During free time, some of the children liked to play Crash Checkers. The object of the game is to push your opponent’s checker outside of the square with your checker without letting yours go out. |

Mrs. Everett and her class liked our Culture Box so much that they wanted to make a Chinese Culture Box for Cottage Lane Students. Just as the Americans did, they each brought in an object from home to put in the box. One of the teachers videotaped each child telling about his/her precious object. The objects will be on their way to America soon! | |
| Grades 4, 5, and 6 all went to the local swimming pool one morning! Actually, there were several pools, some inside and some outside. Each one had fun, colorful equipment to climb on, slide down, balance on, and splash in. Everyone had a great time playing with all of their friends. Doesn’t it look like the kind of place where you would like to go? |

Since there were lifeguards at every pool, there was nothing left for the teachers to do but chat and enjoy the sound of their children’s laughter in the distance. And a good time was had by all…. |
