Lou Lim Loc Garden

Chinese public gardens are beautifully laid out in a small amount of space.  Notice the use of bamboo for the bridge and railings around the pond.  There is much bamboo growing throughout the garden.

These women found a cool place to rest and chat.  Two catfish fighting in the pond have captured their attention.

Throughout the garden are covered resting areas to allow people to sit and enjoy this lovely setting.

The lotus flowers were just beginning to bloom.  These plants, which grow in the water, have enormous leaves.  Some are over two feet across.  The exotic flowers themselves are white and trimmed in shades of purple and pink.  The graceful lines of the bridge, roof, and weeping willow created a beautiful, serene setting for our late afternoon walk.
