- I created this blog because
I needed a chance to vent and scream at the lovable losers. Lately,
they are driving me crazy so hopefully this will help get out
the aggression. (At least that's what the therapist says!)

- Cubs @ Phillies:
- While I didn't get a chance
to see the game, I watched the ninth inning on Gameday via the
web. Tom Goodwin led off with a double and I thought this was
the chance to tie the game. Grudzielanek failed to lay down the
bunt and I knew that this was not meant to be. Simply put, the
Cubs have not been executing. They do not do the little things
that you need to win a game. Laying down a bunt, hitting the
ball to the right side, advancing the runner so that you can
manufacture a run with a Sac-fly. This is why the Cubs are way
behind the Cardinals in the race for the Central. Lately, the
Cubs have fallen in love with the home run ball. However, 3 solo
home runs does not win a 4-3 game. Runs have to come from other
sources as well. No one is as guilty of this as Sammy Sosa. It
seems no matter what the situation is Sammy comes to the plate
and tries to jack the ball out. In certain situations this is
okay. With the game on the line, 2 strikes, and a need for some
contact, this is not one of those times. Show some discipline
for crying out loud. You're making the big bucks, start acting
like a big time player. Alou and Sosa left 8 guys on base yesterday
and many of them is scoring positions. The Cubs will continue
to fail if they come to the plate oblivious to the situation
and unable to execute. With Goodwin on second, Grudzielanek flied
out, then Patterson and Sosa struck out. What a disappointment.
