KinkyChat Stuff
I have taken all the photos I've collected over the years of a lot of chatters from KinkyChat and have put them in a Flickr Folder. You must be a member of Flickr and my friend to view the KC photos. They are also in the Yahoo Group (see below)
Several years ago, after the demise of KinkyChat, I started a Yahoo Group especially for KinkyChatters. If you are a former KinkyChatter, feel free to contact me with your handle and some of the people you knew in KC and I'll invite you into the group.
Many KinkyChatters called themselves Lesmos. This came to be after an angry guy who couldn't find a chick to cyber him called the group of regular chatters in there, "a bunch of Lesmos". Whether this was a mispelling or just ignorance is not known. However it delighted everyone so much, they started calling themselves "Lesmos".
DaHammer (Tony) was the first non Chicago based IRC adminstrator. Last known place of residence is California.
There are many people who ask me where my name 'kcer4ever' comes from. It comes from KinkyChatter. KinkyChatter for ever. Pretty simple.
The History Of KinkyChat
There is not much left to tell about Kinkychat. It was an IRC/Java chat based in Chicago. This was in the earlier days of the Internet. The graphical and webboom era of the Internet. There were loads of people who went there and met each other online and eventually off.
There were at least 3 semi-official chat parties. There were two in Las Vegas and one in Toronto. But there were other meetings between people other than these three parties. Some of them were private, others were more like small gatherings.
The chat was always hopping and like any other chatroom filled with drama and strife, good times and bad. There were births, deaths, marriages, divorce. Even though it was a very international chat, people supported each other in many different ways. That's not to say there weren't people who disliked each other. There were so many fights and bannings and other silly things that went on. It was like a small town. Where everyone knew each others business and played around with each others cybermate. But there was much more laughter and fun than bad times.
KinkyChat was shut down in a fit of pique by the owner after he got tired of a banned person coming in on spoofed IPs. He was tired of dealing with it, dealing with the whining from the users, and generally had better things to do than babysit a chatroom. He had several other websites to run, not to mention many other things that were going on in his personal life. I can't say I don't blame him for never bring the chatroom back. He makes far more money on the URL now that it's an adult video chat reseller than running it as a chat.
