So I don't know exactly where I got the bug that apparently crawled up my ass and decided I should be the queen of domesticity.
I've been not only cleaning, but COOKING. Yes, you heard it right kids. I've been cooking.
I baked Jonny Cake, Brownies (both from mix) and a chocolate chip pecan pie (almost from scratch - i don't do pie crust) on Thursday. And then on Friday I fixed lamb chops and a london broil I had previously marinaded on Thursday. It's been a joyous week of lovely cooking and baking scents throughout the house.
These things have not gone unnoticed. The Warden ate almost all the Brownies in two hours (I got two) and half the Jonny Cake. He doesn't like nut pies so that task falls to me. Although he did have a smidge of crust and goo from it. I made sure to pick the pecans off for him. And he enjoyed it.
I also ate all the lamb. He doesn't do lamb. But he was interested in the London Broil. And that is something I can slice up for sandwiches for him since he didn't want to eat it as a dinner.
It's even harder cooking for him than ever. He's such a pickypuss and now he has diabetes and gout and high cholesterol. I'd rather cook kosher again, Or vegan, Or Gluten-Free to a non-picky eater. At least I'd have room to work on a menu. But since he's so ingrained as a meat/potato and rice person it's very difficult to cook for him.
Oh well.
And if anyone wants the chocolate chip pecan pie recipe, just put in your request in my comments.
