The NSA is only tracking the number, not the identifying info that goes with it. They are doing "data-mining".
If you want to be irritated, be irritated w/ Verizon, and the other phone companies who provided the info.

they were asked for said info and were given it, so I think I have a right to be a little peeved with all of the above. Not that I said I was irritated. I'm actually becoming more disillusioned with both the Gov't and Corporations who kiss the gov't ass. I don't think they need a bunch of records sitting around in a giant database looking to be abused.
