| Thank You: Our council is truly blessed with great talent. Thank you Dale Wordekemper for your fine craftsmanship shown in making the 2004 K of C State Bowling Tournament plaques. Dale provided the materials and labor to create these beautiful awards which will hang in KC Halls all over the state.
State GOLF Tournament: Waterloo is the host city. Games played June 25th and 26th. Please call Thayne (732-2579) for details. Deadline is June 10th. State SOFTBALL Tournament: Mt. Pleasant is the host city. Games played July 16th, 17th, 18th. More details to follow. This is a fun event especially for the new young members as well as the seasoned veterans. KC/Mason Dinner: As always, a night filled with great stories, jokes and fellowship. Thanks to the Masons for coming & Pete Laven for making it happen. A very special thank you goes out to Erv Pickhinke and his daughter Sara. Their musical performance was very enjoyable. Erv, we appreciate you coming on such short notice. Nominations this month: Officer nominations will be this month on May 10th, and continue on June 14th. Make your voice heard by attending these important meetings. New American Flag: Thank you to Jace Wright for his generosity in replacing the weathered American flag atop our KC hall. Let Freedom Fly with the new Red, White & Blue. Pro-Life Signs: John Murray is coordinating the installation of 4 Pro-Life signs to be placed around Storm Lake. This will show our Catholic belief in the Abortion Issue. Very soon, John will call on workers to help install them. Scholarship Awards: Thanks to all the students who submitted a record amount of applications. The committee had an extremely difficult choice as all were very deserving. The families of the applicants should be very proud! Winners announced at the meeting. A word from the Grand Knight: With Memorial Day arriving soon, may we all take a moment to pause and reflect on those family members that have passed on and are still in our hearts. Remember the families of the brave soldiers that have been protecting our freedom and fighting terrorism. Those that have given their life deserve a moment of prayer. Please Pray for Peace! Fraternally, Thayne Benz, Grand Knight. |
