BARREL CEILINGS
Short halls and Small passageways make great locations for barrel ceilngs.
Todays light weight steel framing makes retrofitting old construction and
buliding in new construction, much easier and cheaper than old methods.
Sometimes it is cheaper for us to come in after a contractor has finished
the interior framing and let us put the barrel framing in ourselves. Anytime
you have custom finish work each person does things differently.
If a General Contractor doesn't do a lot of custom work like this, he doesn't
know what we require and we either charge you extra or the GC eats the loss.
We have certain standards that we require in the framing and we won't hang
any board or plaster unless these standards are meet. Last, is the use of
steel framing, with todays young growth wood that twists and shrinks after
it gets installed the stability of steel is undisputed. Less cracking has
been the outcome for us and less cracking means less callbacks! Thats why
we use steel whenever possible.
