LONG LASTING
Look at the pyramids, you can't ask a project to last
longer than that and feel you got your moneys worth! Brick, Stucco, EIFS, these are all
products that people feel have the capabilities to stand the test of time.
This is one of the reasons people pay the extra money when investing in a building.
BEAUTY
Nobody is going to argue that these materials
have natural beauty, combine that with fine architecture and the looks are enhanced
even more. They give off the illusion of power and strength along with their
hardness and natural color, they give off, once again, the 'illusion' of eternal existence.
What can hurt rock, stone, stucco ? ? ? ? ? read on.
MAINTENANCE FREE ???
Remember this, nature creates and nature destroys.
The most destructive natural material on this earth is 'WATER', and thus, the purpose for this

BRICK & STONE
Here, we're not looking at repairing the materials
themselves, but what's in between. Grout joints, ledges, clogged gutters, foundations,
trees and bushes, the possiblities are endless. The goal is not only to repair, but to make it
'not look repaired'.
STUCCO
How much stronger can you get than one monolithic wall of
cement? What can go wrong with this? Well its not the walls that are the problem as much as the holes we punch into them,
the doors and windows. These offer the opportunity for water to get behind the wall at the joints
and rot the base material or cause it to seperate from the main structure. There are new
materials on the market today that seal and protect better than what was originally used.
KCC Designs
know what these materials are and where to get them. Cost for the best materials may be high
at the time of purchase but offer a much longer life and are actually cheaper in the long run.
We don't offer a 'CHOICE' in materials, for us to guarantee our work we only use the best
materials available.
EIFS
The newer EIFS facades have very strict requirements when cleaning, inspecting and repairing it.
Qualified personnel using manufacturers products and procedures are the only way to assure a
long life for EIFS.
Youngstown is lucky to have several very qualified Applicators of this
popular man made system, but even the best need regular maintenance.
I thought when I started
checking out what was required to do this type of work, that a week of investigation and
I would start hiring out.......well its a year later and I'm still studying!
Still getting the approval of different manufacturers to work with their products to
guarantee that the quality workmanship used in the original application is maintained.
There are several different brands of EIFS sold in this area and different companies
use different products. This makes color and texture matchup difficult when you don't
know who did the installation. By working with a variety of different companies, I have a
wide range of choices and a greater possibilty for a close color match.
The sealants are another story. Let me say that repairs are costly and
complicated to do correctly by me or any qualified company. Poor maintenance and cheap,
incorrect sealants are a death sentence to any EIFS application!

type stucco or EIFS system you have, give me a call and we can look at it to find out
what you'll need.

If you know who did the original work, stick with them.
They know their work better than anyone and will offer you the best service.
Don't call me to get a 'competetive price' (read CHEAPER), I found that no one qualified
to do this work is cheap because they know what is involved. If you're making your descision
by price alone and not the qualifications of the company, don't bother to do it at all,
you'll only be throwing your money away.
CLEANING
This is much mord than a cosmetic procedure.
Dirt, acid rain, mold and mildew damage the more delicate and complicated grout joints and
connection points around doors and windows, shortening their life and threatening possible
water intrusion. Exposure of areas that couldn't be detected prior to cleaning, allow us to
catch and repair trouble before it causes long term damage. The cosmetice advantage is
evident, a finish that is brought back to its original beauty should last quite a while.
