Important Information for Miss Caroscio’s
Class
In
order to make this another fantastic year, I must ask for your help in a few
areas. First, I hope you will attend Curriculum
Night, one of the most important meetings of the year. At this meeting, I
will give the “ins and outs” for third grade success. You will receive
information about this date and time as school begins. The following are other
areas of importance for this year!
Any money sent to school needs to be in a
sealed envelope or baggie with your child’s name, my name, and the amount of
money enclosed.
If your
child goes home differently than the regular schedule, I need written
permission from you and office approval for a bus situation.

Attendance in
third grade is VERY IMPORTANT due to the amount of information and classroom
instruction given each day. Poor attendance can result in lower grades. Also,
please read the Hillcrest Handbook carefully regarding the tardy policy.
Since attendance
is crucial for your child’s success in my classroom, please help them catch up
their assignments if they are absent

During DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) students
read books or magazines of their choice while emphasizing the importance of
reading. Encourage your child to bring in books or magazines they enjoy from

Due to
our late lunch, we have a class snack.
Please help by donating a bag of pretzels, cereal, or other items to help give
students a boost midmorning!
School
administration states that no birthday
parties should be given for students at school. If you would like to bring
in a treat for the class, it can be handed out during lunch. Also, please do
not send invitations to be passed out in class unless everyone is invited.
Every few months, I will send
home a letter to keep you updated with what is going on in the classroom (as
well as make postings on the web site). Also, I hope to talk with each of you
on the phone within the first couple weeks of school. If you have any questions
or concerns for me, please contact me at the school, 570-6120.
As many of you know, third grade is
quite different from the first three years of school for your child. Your
support is essential to help your child be successful! Please keep the attached
magnet for your use throughout the year. For your information and to avoid
scheduling conflicts, Monday afternoons are reserved for staff meetings. I look
forward to enjoying this year with all the smiling faces coming through the
classroom door. J
