Haunting Screams
Looking back, I remember a time full of sadness, tragedy, and remorse. On a usual sleepy night, my family and I were awakened to cries of my mother screaming. Everyone came running to see the reason and found that she was on fire. We extinguished the fire that was on her, however, the fire started to spread rapidly throughout the first floor.
We scrambled around in the smoke, trying to get everyone out. In the end, we all survived, although my mother was critically hospitalized and induced into a coma, yet the animals I had devoted my life to perished inside. Even now, a day does not pass that I do not think about the fire. At night, when trying to sleep, I still hear their screams still as painful as before rip through me.
