Unit B: Determining Influences on Emotional Well-Being and Mental Health

Unit D: Abstinence
Human Sexuality and Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Task 1: Sexual Anatomy
Objectives:

Task 3: Describe issues related to HIV-infection.

a. Identify the virus, its make-up, and the progressive steps of the virus.
b. The methods of transmitting HIV-infection.
c. The symptoms of the HIV/AIDS infection.
d. The treatment of the HIV/AIDS infection.
e. Issues related to HIV-infection.
f. How to reduce the risk of contracting HIV.
Task 4: Teen pregnancy and the consequences.
Objectives:
a. Identify the effects of teen pregnancy on education, finances associated with raising a child, family, friends, & future.
Task 5: Identify a healthy relationship.
Objectives:
a. The signs of abusive relationships.
b. Rape and date rape.
c. Sexual harassment.
d. Relationships and the stereotypical myths.
e. The content of a positive relationship.
f. The age of consent.
Task 6: Identify a positive future.
Objectives:
a. The students will identify the goals for their future.
b. Recognize the type of lifestyle needed to reach certain goals.

Unit E: C.P.R. Certification

Task 1: Review CPR techniques.
Objectives:
a. Heimlich maneuver
b. CPR (adult, child, and infant)
c. Practice saving the choking, blocked airway, and cardiac arrest patient.
d. The students will complete the entire American Red Cross Certification course to be eligible for certification.
e. American Red Cross Certification test will be implemented for certification (80% needed).

Task 1: Examine healthful ways of maintaining desirable body weight.
Objectives:
a. Recognize the use and misuse of dietary supplements.
b. Identify ways of obtaining and maintaining desirable weight.

d. Identify the healthful ways of gaining weight.
e. Identify the three eating disorders.
f. Analyze the causes, symptoms, and treatment of anorexia nervosa, bulimia, and binge eating.
