Personality: Rovari, or Rovi as he likes to be called, feels he has to make up for his small size with a big personality. He is easy to laugh and loves making others laugh with his outrageous stories and jokes. He'll stand up for himself to anyone, especially if they pick on him because of his size, because as he says, "I've got know one else to do it, so I have to look after myself!" He likes living at Arolos and his only dream is to become a dragonrider.

History: Rovi was born at Igen Weyr and doesn't know who his parents are. He grew up like a few other weyr children, living in the crche and passed around to foster families or other workers. He didn't mind too much, though he would like to know just who his parents were. He did well with his lessons but the local harpers said he didn't have any particular gift for music.
Because of his small size, he was never roped into helping with heavy chores, mostly delivering messages throughout the weyr and the like. The main goal Rovi had in his life was to wait until he was old enough and stand for as many hatchings as it took to Impress a dragon and become a dragonrider. Whenever he revealed his dream to any other child they always teased him that he was too small or too young-looking to Impress but he always stood up to them saying the dragon chose and size didn't matter.
At ten turns old, a few of the 'support staff' volunteered to move south and help open the new Arolos Weyr. Rovi liked the idea of a brand new weyr to become a dragonrider in and tagged along. He helped where he could and when he was old enough, stodd fopr his first Hatching. Unfortunately, he did not Impress. This left Rovi feeling very, very depressed and sad. It seemed as if no one could cheer him up but soon he stood again, still hoping against hopes that he would walk away a 'rider, to no avail. Again he walked away...alone. Still his sadness continues, but now Rovi is more resigned to the fact that he may not Impress and he may have to look at some other craft or job in the weyr once his standing days are over with.

There is one person that, lately, can cheer him up. Another Candidate, Cathern, has become good friends with Rovi and soon there may even be another level added to their friendship. Afterall, the CM does suggest that all Candidates experience... 'intimate relationships' before Impressing. ;)
Finally, after what seemed like a lifetime of waiting and Standing, Rovi Impressed the mellow and standoff-is brown named Garfeth at Klarath and Breteth's hatching. The bond was made with no fireworks or sobs or tears, just immediate love and adoration between both dragon and young man. Rovi, or R'vari, now had the loving lifemate he'd always hoped for.

R'vari and Garfeth
Dragon Name: Garfeth
Colour: Brown
Age: 1
Wing: Skystrikers

Description: Garfeth has a light brown hide, slightly on the small side of average for a brown. There are little whorls of an even lighter color around his eye ridges and top of his head, looking like curly hair from a distance.

Personality: And that's likely the only way most people will see them, as Garfeth seems to prefer to keep everybody else at a distance, both physically and

Emotionally - he touches no one, and no one touches him. He doesn't make friends very easily, and even those who do manage to get through his
defenses, he'll be waiting for them to hurt him. Rather than brood over his isolation, however, he seems to celebrate it. Gazing from his weyrledge, to the Bowl below, he's very much an outsider, and that's how he likes it. He has no need of friendship; it only causes pain. Garfeth has a definite philosophical bent to him, so he has his thoughts and his lifemate to protect him, shielded in his solitude.

Still... despite all protestations to the contrary, there are times when he'll look upon a group with a sort of wistful longing, as if he'd like to join them - if even for just a brief time - but is afraid of being rejected.

Weyr of Origin: Arolos

Abilites and weaknesses: He'll work with others in his wing, but he won't really *rely* on them, and he'll very much prefer being a sweeprider - just him and his rider, away from everybody else. During Fall, Garfeth is a strong flyer, which he takes some pride in - after all, it means he's less likely to need help.

He'll rarely feel the urge to give chase to a rising green, at least not powerfully enough to actually give IN to it.
